You can usually find something to satisfy your hunger here and it will be of better than average quality. Service is generally prompt, but the cafe can be noisy at peak times. Good place for breakfast and not too noisy then, but primetime lunch or dinner can be challenging. They have recently changed up the menu, but don't expect a real French meal here.

If you like a place with a LOT OF NOISE; this is it! If you like seeing a littered lobby ; this is it! If you don't mind an unfriendly, untrained serving staff; this is it! Did I mention the constant din in the place? if you like that; this is it.

Very good service, pretty good food and a nice atmosphere combine to make this a solid dining choice for a casual meal. You start your meal with a nice rolls and carrot bread (free) which is enjoyable. Their breakfasts are good with especially good bacon (thick, applewood smoked) and better then average coffee. The breakfast muffins are all good.

The burgers are good, as are most of their salads. The soups are also usually very good. The french dip sandwich is one of the best in the area. Most items on the menu are well prepared.

The service is very good at the Thousand Oaks location. It sucks at the Ventura location. I will never go to that one again, but the store in T.O. Is always satisfying.

The bouillabaisse was good and so was the avocado bacon burger we had for lunch. The restaurant was very busy on a Sunday around noon, but the service was good and the waiter was friendly and attentive.
