We've been staying at this hotel for many years. It has always been a great place to stay. Over the years they have made many nice improvements. The employees have always been friendly, and very helpful. From the front desk to housekeeping, service has always been first class.
Over the years they have always provided a good breakfast. Fast, varied, and something for everybody. Unfortunately, this has changed. There is a new restaurant in the hotel, "Camboni's". Now guests receive a $5.00voucher towards breakfast. With $3.00 for a cup of coffee, the voucher does not go far in paying for breakfast. And, with slow service it is not a good start for business travelers.
But, The Thousand Oaks Inn has always done everything right and, hopefully, this new problem will be corrected quickly. We will always stay here when we come to town. But, we'll now be forced to have breakfast off-site.

Front Desk manned by Jeff Rock was extremely helpful and friendly. Good amenities in room, fridge, microwabve coffee. Bathroom clean with large mirror and great shower/tub. King Bed comfortable. TV has showtime and available DVDs at front desk was a nice touch. Some freeway noise but AC helped lower the sound.

Room Tip: top floor to avoid overhead trompers

Quiet hotel, a bit dated. Staff quite good, and location for that area is excellent. Close to shopping, and the freeway. Each person receives $5 off the cost of breakfast, which takes care of most of it.

Thank you for your candid feedback on our hotel for your stay this summer. The Thousand Oaks Inn is one of the oldest hotels in the Conejo Valley. Although we are continuously updating the hotel, the design challenge is to provide modern amenities and design, while maintaining the style, history, and atmosphere of this quiet bedroom community.

We are currently in the process of upgrading our elevators, completely renovating our guest bathrooms, and adding an outdoor patio to the restaurant. We also be renovating the Lobby and Landscaping in the Spring of 2015. We do appreciate you staying with us when you come up from Orange County and hope you find the changes to improve your future stays.

Don't believe what they tell you. It has NOT been renovated, it is old, and it smells terrible. The rooms smell old, musty, and smokey. Basic things like TV, refrigerator, and telephone don't work correctly. The plumbing is ancient.

I'm very sorry for your experience here at the Thousand Oaks Inn, after traveling all the way from Dallas, TX. Although the building was built in the late '60s, we do continuously update the hotel. You may not have realized it, but the carpet was replaced 2 years ago, and window treatments were updated this year. We upgraded our televisions to 42" HDTV LCD with 60 HD channels. We have also been updating our telecommunications, including a new phone system, and adding fixed wireless technology to increase our internet bandwidth. Completely new elevators should be up and running in two weeks, and completely new and renovation bathrooms are expected to be completed this winter.

If you and your family will be returning to the Conejo Valley next summer, please contact me directly, so I can ensure that your stay is pleasant and meets your expectations.

Room was very well decorated. Room was very clean. The room came with a coffee maker and refrigerator and microwave. All of which worked perfectly. The room was located next to a patio with a gazebo where we entertained family members who lived close to the hotel. The flowers and shrubs were beautiful. The staff was professional and very helpful. I had to use the business area for the computer and printer. There were three computers and one printer. I had no trouble in getting to use one of the computers.

Our stay started with helpful and welcoming staff and was followed up by a room with nicely appointed bathroom, comfortable bedding and a large plasma TV. This made for a well above average three star experience. Free wi-fi (that works), excellent signal quality and program selection on the TV and a higher quality room coffee all make for travel amenities that make this a step above. The outdoor areas are a bit sparse in terms of the lushness of vegetation and some tables were missing glass tops. But this was minor in comparison to the attention to detail given to the rooms. Lastly, we prefer a free breakfast offering rather than a $5 credit in the restaurant.

I booked on-line for my stay. They had my information on hand at check-in, and my room ready. The reception staff were friendly, explaining the hotel's facilities and surrounding restaurants. The urn of iced water with orange slices in it in the foyer was very refreshing. My room was spacious, the room, bathroom & bed were all clean. The bed was very comfortable. My room raced the freeway which was about 250 metres away, but any road or other noise was drowned out by the low hum of the air conditioner that needed to be run while the room was occupied due to the outside temperature. The accommodation block is separate from reception & the restaurant, and is accessed with your room key. There is a lift to all floors. The pool was refreshing in the afternoon. These premises are value for money, this is my third stay & I will definitely stay again.
