“Great last night in the US”
Reviewed 4 June 2014

Arrived in Three Rivers to find there were hardly any vacancies in town. thank goodness for the Sierra Lodge. got the deluxe king room which was perfect for our last night in the US...lots of from to sort out our luggage etc. Very friendly staff, clean and comfortable room. decor is a bit outdated but we had a great stay. Highly recommend the Pizza Factory down the road ...yum

This is a cinderblock nightmare. Built and decorated in the '50s. $139 for two double (not queen) beds whose mattresses are at least 30 years old. From the duck border around the ceiling to the pink and yellow tile in the bathroom that features a three foot square bathtub this is a place to run away from.

From the highway this place looks really nice. The room however had a very 80's feel with an old TV and old decor, but there was a lot of room and it felt really cozy and clean. Refrigerator, microwave, coffee, tea and water were all included in the room which was nice. I can't remember the name of the lady at the desk but she was very helpful and nice, and also provided a lot of information about the area including a nice bar on the river down the street. I would definitely stay here again if I am ever in the area.

Last week I called to make a reservation. Michelle was very helpful and politely answered all of my questions. When we got to the lodge, we were treated like family. The room looked, smelled, and felt really clean. During breakfast we had an amazing view of the mountains, and the staff shared some really neat trails with us. If you're looking for a great place to stay near the Sequoia Park entrance, look no further than Sierra Lodge! ;)

We didn't have a reservation, but we had the chance to get a room. We received a very nice welcoming, and we got the key at 10 AM for the coming night.
She spent a good night of sleep after a day at Sequoia National Park, very close to the motel !!
In the lobby , there is a library, if you forgot your book !!
And a good breakfast in the morning!!!

we reserved a room at the sierra lodge on our way to sequoia nat'l park. we arrived later than expected, about 11:45 pm, and when we pulled into the driveway, the lights were out and the sign said closed. i panicked; we have 3 small children and all hotels in the area were dark and looked closed! my husband got out to walk around and as he walked to the lobby, he was greeted by a very nice lady who called him by name and welcomed him in to check us in. she will never know how thankful i was to have her waiting for us and expecting us! we hadn't even thought to call, just assumed that the hotel lobby would be open whenever we got there! we also found that we had been upgraded to a suite room, which was an unexpected, although very nice surprise. the hotel is definitely older, seems maybe 70's era, but was clean and we had no problem with it. we had a king bed that was great, and a pull out couch for the kids. the room had a partition that separated the two rooms, which was awesome so that our baby could go to sleep in a separate room from us. there was a fridge and microwave which was great (don't know how we would have given our baby a bottle otherwise!) we could hear a television in another room, but it wasn't a bother. there was breakfast, oranges, coffee/hot chocolate/orange juice, pastries, and oatmeal. would have given 4 stars as it was a little on the dated side, but due to the kindness and availability of staff after hrs, bumped it up to a 5:) we would stay again for sure!

but needs a lot of work. It feels like someone cared about this place up until the early 90s, but then suddenly gave up. Illustrating my point, the lobby library didn't have one issue of "Time" magazine beyond 1995. And the Scooby-Doo villain they have working as a groundskeeper (although I suspect he's one half of the husband/wife tandem that run this place) is hella creepy. Apparently it would kill him to smile once in a while, but it was fun to watch him angrily dart here and there in his golf cart and rattle his ladder first thing in the morning.

Other than that, nice location with uncomfortable beds.
