“Cute”
Reviewed 30 June 2014

I stayed here only one night and I thought it was pretty cute. Definitely not a luxury hotel, but if you're not high maintenance you'll be just fine. The room was clean and quiet. It is pretty close to the park entrance and a few restaurants, which is nice. About an hour drive to the Giant Forest and Moro Rock. Really homey feel to the place.

I was a little nervous because, although the place was clean, it was clearly a little old. I have asthma and was afraid of reacting to the mold or dust. I'd stayed in chain hotels earlier in the week (on a road trip) and had issues in those hotels but not here. So I hope that stands as a good testament for the cleanliness that people seem to be complaining about. No complaints from the asthmatic!

Let's start with the entrance. Entrance is one lane, uphill blind into the parking lot. Beware of other vehicles. Parking lot is tiny. A definite challenge when it comes to turning around so you can park.

Room is below average. They have an old a/c installed through the wall which was very noisy. TV was a step back into the 70's. A 20 inch tube TV with 25 channels including 6 Spanish speaking ones. Not even ESPN!

Shower is a tiny 30 x 30 enclosure. If you need to wash the lower half of your body, it would really help if you were a gymnast.

If you need to plug something in, good luck! All of the outlets are the old 2 pronged outlets although there was a power strip under the TV that used an adapter for anything with a 3 pronged plug.

Glad the room had a mini-fridge. I bought cereal and milk for breakfast because the hotel's breakfast was minimal at best. Some orange liquid that tasted like Tang and some danishes.

The one long window had louvered blinds that were ok but did not exactly keep out the light too well. Perhaps some shades would be nice.

Didn't use the pool but it is a very small one. Sufficient for an evening dip in the pool.

Four miles to the park entrance. After that, keep your eyes on the road! 16 miles to the Giant Forest with over 300 turns including about 25 10-15 mph switchback U-turns. It's even more treacherous when you leave the park! I made sure I was out of there long before dark. The scenery in Sequoia National is spectacular so try to forget about the drive, enjoy the trees, and try to stay comfortable in your room.

A clean hotel with modern amenities would do very well in Three Rivers but this isn't the place

Room Tip: Stay on the first floor to avoid hauling your stuff up a narrow spiral staircase. OR use a rope to...

Dirty: dust everywhere, cobwebs hanging from the ceiling.
Bed relatively clean, but after I spotted the dirt in the corners of the room, I was afraid to look more closely. The receptionist - condescending with a suspicious attitude.

was a bad experience. The lady in the front desk was so nice, but the hotel is lost for nonexistent maintenance in the building.

cobwebs on the ceiling and dead bugs in the washed hands. Dust everywhere, opaque the only clean in the room, sheets and towels. Breakfast is ridiculous, They serve it in the front desk and have no where to sit. just a little juice, some coffee and some oranges is what I saw, obviously we left there without touching anything. The old AC es very noisy machine!!!!! the curtains ware broken!!!!!! horrible!

My room was on 2nd floor no elevator narrow spiral staircase. That said my clean and comfortable with a view of the mountains. The breakfast consisted of pastries, fruit, juice, coffee and oatmeal which was good and it worked for me. The important things were clean, location, price and did I say location.

Arrived in Three Rivers to find there were hardly any vacancies in town. thank goodness for the Sierra Lodge. got the deluxe king room which was perfect for our last night in the US...lots of from to sort out our luggage etc. Very friendly staff, clean and comfortable room. decor is a bit outdated but we had a great stay. Highly recommend the Pizza Factory down the road ...yum

This is a cinderblock nightmare. Built and decorated in the '50s. $139 for two double (not queen) beds whose mattresses are at least 30 years old. From the duck border around the ceiling to the pink and yellow tile in the bathroom that features a three foot square bathtub this is a place to run away from.
