This was worth the drive. There was some construction going on which was a minor incovenience. Who knew that trees could get this big? And 3000 years old? Makes me feel insignificant....ha ha. :) Definitely worth the trip.

Who says you need to drive far into Yosemite and Sequoia National parks to get your sequoia fix? Kings Canyon is absolutely amazing and so well kept for everyone to really experience nature at its best.

I just got back from Reedley California and we took a day trip to the park, which is approximately an hour away from town.

If you are not into camp living, i highly recommend to stay in Reedley for the night and you will also experience a charming town in the heart of the agriculture farming life.

Happy Travels!

The trees speak for themselves. You can take shuttles to all the major attractions take a few pictures ne be on you way, but if you are able to the walk through the forest is breathtaking. We ended up walking 23 km around a very well indicated trail and forest walk. If that's your thing you will be very well served.
The Giant Forest trail has some great explanations as to how the giant sequoias have survived all this time. Believe it or not Forest fires are a good thing for tree health and survival. Who knew???
We got there at 8:00 to beat the park traffic. Had plenty of parking availabiltites.
This was a lifelong dream for us and it did not disappoint.
Nature has shown itself the be very spectacular once again. What a treat.

Glad we made a special point to visit this NP. Almost a religious experience to be among these giants. A great visitor center and hiking throughout the park.

Adjacent to Kings Canyon - so, suggest you do both if you have time. If short on time, then concentrate of Sequoia. you should allow at least one full day to the park - if not more.

Just magnificent!!

Of course Sequoia is all about the trees. Which are just amazingly large and old. Certainly worth seeing. Traveling in Sept or May might be better.
