This was our first trip to Jellystone in Luray Va. We had heard great things about their Halloween weekends so away we went.
Arrived late Friday but our reservation was on the door. A guide led us to our spot and graciously waited while we backed into our very dark space. Set up was easy and off to bed.
Woke to a gorgeous mountain view and the sight of a very full campground.
The bathhouse: this piece of this park needs a desperate overhaul. Saturday morning it could be described as a disaster and nasty. Out of toilet paper in many stalls. Showers are small with a shower seat to provide a dry spot. They are difficult at best. No place to set your toiletries on counter. A shelf above sink would be unbelievably handy. Everything was wet. Water standing in the floor. Water standing on the counter. No paper towels. Only hand driers so there was no self mopping. Sunday was even crazier but slightly cleaner. Sunday morning was more due to families not understanding bathhouse etiquette and treating it as their personal space with disregard to everyone else. I'll be better prepared next time for the cramped space. Husband states men's bathhouse similar experience.
Activities: superb playground. Lovely field. Fun wagon ride and the bounce pillow kept the Kiddo well entertained.
Trick or treat was a blast. Please patrons, if you are coming for a trick or treat weekend be prepared for a gazillion trick or treaters. Really neat site decorations and super fun!
Everyone was quiet by 10p. Super silent night and another gorgeous morning.
Walmart and Foud Lion are close by for quick runs. Camp store fairly well stocked. Friendly staff.
We will be back next year!
