Just because of the good experience during the first visit, we decided to stay again at this hotel while visiting Luray. But this time we are really disappointed. Although we learned that they did some improvement work, but still this hotel needs a huge renovation. Furniture, doors, electrical appliances, bedding everything is old and worn out. Even the blankets are rough and bobbling. Room does not warm up even if the heating is turned up to the highest. This time we deeply felt the lack of cleanliness too. Dust and dirt everywhere. Although the manager tried his best to please us, but we could badly feel the lack of cleaning staff. It is definitely an ideal place for group travelers who want to visit the historic old town, caverns and other attractions of Luray on a very limited budget, but you should never stay here if you have a little kid. We reserved the room for 2 nights, but had to come back just after staying one night for the sake of our toddler son. I'm giving this hotel 3 star because of its cheap rate, spacious rooms with mountain view and the great hospitality showed by the manager Mr. Vithal.

Room Tip: Honeymoon suite and the suite with kitchen is the best rooms in this hotel.

If you are looking for a quiet room with a queen bed, full kitchen and a jacuzzi tub, then this is the place for you. We rented room 126 with kitchen access (which just means they unlock the door to the attached kitchen). If you do not get it with kitchen access, there is a mini fridge, microwave and coffee pot in the room. This room has a jacuzzi tub in the bathroom which easily fits 2 people with room to spare. The rain shower head is very relaxing and soothing. The room has a large screened porch which was very nice to sit on (although it was a little chilly, due to the weather). The view from the porch is very peaceful, like looking out across a park. It was nice to be able to leave the door open and not worry about bugs or people wandering in/by! This was as close to a cabin experience as you will get in a main stream hotel. The kitchen was adequately stocked and we were able to cook all of our meals in the room. There is a full stove, full size fridge, microwave and sink. It is on the back of the hotel, away from the road and very quiet. The queen size bed was equipped with a memory foam mattress topper, which added to its comfort. I will definitely pick this room and hotel again. The manager/owner greeted me at the door to the office and showed me to the room as it is not noticeable from the parking lot. This room has the capability of adjoining room 127 if desired for a larger family.

Room Tip: Rooms on the back side are quiet. It is on the business stretch of 211 but it is at the beginning o...

This has to be one of trashiest places I've ever stayed in. There was no maid service of any kind. The shower curtain in our room was a kids' cartoon shower curtain. The carpet had not been swept, nor had the floor been cleaned as there laid dead bugs all over the floor. Even when I asked the manager to deliver towels, he didn't even bother to clean up the remaining bugs after he left them in our room. The room was cold and the fridge must have never been cleaned or used because it was caked with 5 inches of ice all around the icebox area. What a s*** hole.

Room Tip: Manager said over the phone that he had one last room available. What a lie that was. Don't bo...

Although we stayed only one night, but the service and hospitality offered by the staff of the hotel will last long in our memory. Except for the king bedroom, one will not find flaws regarding cleainess or, other issues in rest of the rooms of the hotel. The bathrooms of the king bed rooms should be renovated urgently. We must mention with appreciation the way Mr. Vithal & his family welcomes and entertains their guests. Location of the hotel is also convenient as shenandoah national park and Luray caverns are very close to it. Great hotel for this price.

Spacious room, but could have a better bathroom. Furniture a little outdated. No breakfast available. Location is OK, at the begining of Main Street of the Businness District of the Luray, for those who intend visit Shenandoah National Park. The room is quiet, but the restaurants is a little bit far from the motel.

This place is very old and the room furnishings are cheap. The beds are uncomfortable. Although wifi is advertised, we could not get any of our devices to work on the wifi. At almost $100 the rooms are Waaaaaay overpriced. Oh, and don't expect a coffee maker in the room because there aren't any.

Staff is friendly and rooms are outdated but clean. Beautiful view of mountains and great location. Smoke detector was missing in our room and was beeping in the room next to us. Woke up and it wasn't beeping anymore, so hopefully they changed the battery and didn't pull it like ours. Has mini fridge and microwave in the room that ended up being useful. Towels are rough, bed is comfortable. Recommend the heat being turned on when know a guest is coming. Room was colder than the mountain night air. Turned on the heat and went to dinner while our room warmed up. Our 2nd time staying here, and will again because it's clean and cheap.
