the best of the best. Restful, quiet and outstanding restaurant and bar/grill. wonderful views and interesting area to explore. Easy parking, service, heavily staffed and efficient. Low key and relaxing. Big front porch with enough privacy, outdoor dining, if you like. A plus.

Room Tip: try to get on the front side, best views

We booked this Inn through a Living Social special and didn't know what to expect. We were very pleasantly surprised to find a beautiful old Inn, newly renovated in 2005. The lobby was warm and welcoming, we loved the period music playing in the lobby and circa 31 restaurant. The staff was great, friendly and helpful. Our room, though small was very tastefully decorated and the bed extremely comfortable. We added a second night to our stay because of the Inn. The only downer was the Inn wasn't very busy but the room right next door to us was occupied. We heard the people on their cell phones and talking even though they were not very loud. If the Inn isn't very busy, spread people out!

Room Tip: If there is a room with no one on either side, request that one.

We stayed at this inn after a wedding in Luray. We were unable to open our door to our room despite multiple keys and different tries to open the locks. All of our belongings were stuck in the room. The maintenance worker and manager on duty were so accommodating and helpful, they made a horrible situation manageable. They truly cared about our stay! Thanks again, we will be back!!!!

We didn't get to stay long in the hotel as we arrived late and left fairly early, but we got one of the suites which was very nice. The bed was comfortable and the room had nice touches. Since it was a suite it was a nice size and the bathroom quite large. I would definitely recommend it, but if possible go for a suite.

My husband had his reunion for his college fraternity this past weekend.
we both enjoyed everything about the hotel and the area.
The staff were well mannered and very professional! I was impressed with the welcome letter and that they have quiet time so the guests are comfortable.
The banquet on Saturday night was very nice and the food was wonderful.
They also have a spa but unfortunately I was unable to get a appointment.
Thank you for a very nice weekend!!
we would love to come back and stay again.

Room Tip: The King suite was very comfortable, beautiful gas fireplace. 2 TV's and a large spa tub.

While choices of lodging in Luray may be scarce, we probably should have looked further. We stayed in a king historic room which was clean but the bed took up 90% of the room. If we had two suitcases, we would have had to leave one in the hallway. The bathroom was tiny with not even a place to put down an overnight bag. The walls are paper thin; we could hear the people in the next room talking and they weren't shouting. The continental breakfast they offered was a plate of small muffins, weak coffee and a practically empty urn of orange juice.

We had booked the rooms with a Groupon. Upon checking out, we saw that they had added an additional charge for an upgrade to the king room. When we questioned this, the desk person said that the Groupon was only for a queen room. After showing her the Groupon voucher which did not specify that it was only for queen historic room and saying they had not explained that when we called to make the reservation or when we checked in and a little back and forth, the additional charge was removed but with "attitude." Unnecessary.

Overall, a disappointing experience.

This is a wonderful old hotel with great service. I rated it a little low only because the bed was a bit hard, and I like mine a little softer. Other than that, the food in the restaurant was excellent, and the staff was wonderful to deal with. We took a walk the next day into town, and walked the Greenway. It's a wonderful place for either a leisurely stroll or a brisk walk and only a block from the hotel. Don't hesitate to stay at this wonderful place.
