From the moment we Hank and Wiley greeted us in the driveway, we knew it was going to be a GREAT stay. Piney Hill is the BEST B&B we've stayed at. Their warm hospitality, delectable food, spot-on recommendations, quaint & comfy rooms, and gorgeous panoramic views made this our perfect getaway. We only wish we had more time to spend here. It is an easy drive to Shenandoah and other attractions in the area. We will certainly Piney Hill to others and hope to return soon!

We stayed at Piney Hill in the Emma Ruffner room over the Fourth. From the time we checked in to the time we checked out, Hank & Wiley took excellent care of us!
We had amazing views from our room. The place is very quiet and with all of the hiking and walking we did during the day, we did not have any problems falling asleep at night. My wife loved the decorations in the room; it made everything bright and cheery. She also enjoyed all of the decorations in the sitting/living room and the dining room.
Booking was very easy and checking in and out was easy as well. One regret is that we missed a breakfast because of our plan for a very early morning hike. When we stay here again, we will definitely not miss the fabulous breakfast that Hank and Wiley prepared! And we will definitely stay here again!
If you want to stay at a bed and breakfast to relax, this is the place to be. It's very quiet and comfortable and the only sounds you would hear are the birds chirping and maybe Jack the Bull bellowing. The next time we come back, we will stay at one of the cottages. And maybe play with the kittens more.
We've only been back a day and we've started recommending the place to our friends. We hope they take our recommendations to heart because Piney Hill Bed & Breakfast is an awesome place! Thank you very much, Hank & Wiley, for making our stay very comfortable and enjoyable!

Room Tip: The Emma room is awesome with its private bath and nice views. It gets warm in the afternoon with th...

My husband and I stayed at Piney Hill two years ago to celebrate our 3rd Wedding Anniversary. This time around we brought family with us, booking all of the rooms in the main house. Hank and Wiley were more than welcoming of our large group! Amazing breakfasts, breath-taking mountain views and the most comfortable rooms provided us with a very memorable trip. We'll be back again and continue to recommend their B&B to our family and friends!

We stayed at Piney Hill about a year ago and plan to return soon. Hank and Wiley are "innkeepers extraordinaire" and they thought of everything to make our stay luxurious, serene and memorable. The Piney Hill Inn feels warm and inviting the moment you arrive. The main house is beautifully decorated with many antiques and a cosy atmosphere! We stayed in the Rosebud cottage which was immaculate and totally comfortable. We explored the beautiful Shenandoah Valley and the amazing caverns, then returned to the hot tub with a view of the cows grazing nearby. Heavenly!

Room Tip: Rosebud Cottage was perfectly serene with a view!

Thank you for writing such a glowing review!! We truly appreciate all of the positive comments.

Since your stay last year however, the outdoor hot tub is no longer available. The old one kicked the bucket after many years. We pampered it along for a while, but the old girl just couldn't sustain. We struggled with the idea of replacing it, but because it sat empty and unused so often; always having to be at temperature, we decided against it. We are not saying never, just not now.

Thank you again and we look forward to seeing you again in the not too distant future.

My husband & I celebrated our anniversary at Piney Hill. We stayed in the Emma room. I loved the bright & cheery decor & our private bath. We had amazing views from our room. The bed was very comfortable. Hank & Wiley made every effort to make us feel at home & we did! We sat on the porch in the late afternoon, enjoying a glass of wine, the mountain views & watching the calves romp in the field across the road. We visited wineries during our stay & browsed some of the local shops. Our breakfasts at Piney Hill were delicious & would satisfy even the biggest appetites. Hank & Wiley are very knowledgeable about the Luray area. We had wonderful dinners thanks to their recommendations. We definitely would like to go back.

My husband and I stayed here for a weekend--our main intentions were to hike some trails of Shenandoah Valley. The house is gorgeous! We were also surprised that there were a bunch of wineries in the area. Along with the views of the house, it seemed like the "Napa Valley" of VA! After our hikes and visiting the cavern, we sat on the deck, porch, and hammock around various places of the house, drank our wine and enjoyed the view! It was a welcome change from the hustle and bustle of D.C. and driving the beltway everyday.

We plan to go back even if it is just to sit around and drink more wine and enjoy the spectacular view!

Room Tip: We stayed in one of the rooms in the main house which was great, but would love to try staying in a...

We stayed in the Rosebud Cottage and it couldn't have been better. The cottage was comfortable and had everything we needed. Our delicious and abundant breakfast was delivered to us every morning at 8:45am. The Inn Keepers were more than accommodating and were anxious to meet every need and they did. I loved sitting on the back porch every morning, eating a freshly prepared breakfast and overlooking some of the most beautiful landscape I have ever seen. Thank you Wiley and Hank. Big Hugs
