I just got back from my second trip to the Mayneview Inn with my boyfriend. We came before during the summer and were just as impressed with the B&B this time around in the winter. The place is beautifully decorated and the hospitality of Sally and Paul was great. The rooms are spacious and most include a private bathroom and fireplace. There are games and dvds to occupy your free time, although we were more interested in taking advantage of the amazing view from the hot tub outside- you can see the entire downtown area of Luray. Robes and towels are provided.
The breakfasts each day were very delicious and unique from traditional breakfasts you would make yourself or get at a standard restaurant. I especially like Sally's take on French toast and the sausages she provided on the side. Paul is very friendly and shared information about different things to do in the area. There are several good restaurants nearby- I definitely recommend the Artisan Grill, we ended up going there for dinner and lunch during our stay. If you're looking for activities to do during the day- Massanutten Ski Resort is only 45 minutes away and it's a beautiful drive. There are also a lot of Vineyards in the area that do wine tastings- we stopped on a few on our drive back.
This is a great place for unwinding from the city and enjoying a more quiet, peaceful town. We will definitely be planning a return trip soon for the summer- where there are other activities such as tubing or canoing nearby.
