We're rented APE 3 the weekend before thanksgiving as a halfway point between Maryland and North Carolina and couldn't have been more pleased. The cabin was immaculately clean and gorgeous! Lovely property and great views. We cooked our meal there and it felt just like home. The only down side is the water has a sulfur smell I'd advise bringing bottled if you aren't used to it.
Spent Labor Day 15 weekend in this lovely log cabin. Beautiful view from the covered deck out over the valley (faces east). Three bedrooms with comfy queen beds and one sofa bed in loft (sleeps total of 8). Full bath upstairs and large master bath with jetted soaking tub. Pictures are perfectly accurate. All windows have shades for privacy. Good speed on wi-fi throughout cabin and DirecTV on flat screens in living room and all three bedrooms. Kitchen is large and well outfitted. Stove is electric ceramic top, includes dishwasher and washer/dryer. Nice fire pit outside, and small bundle of wood is included in rental (nice touch!). Overall, very clean and inviting cabin. Excellent communication direct from property owners/managers (the Howans).
A few small things keep this from 5 stars. Other cabins (APE#1, APE#2, APE #4) are along same road. #1 and #2 not really an issue, but noise from APE#4 with large group outside can be disturbing late in evenings. Noise/vibration from hot tub auto-filtering (every hour or so) may disturb light sleepers. Cracked microwave door/handle and cracked door shelves in fridge could use attention. Some provided cookware does not work well on ceramic stove (bottoms are warped). Hot tub instructions not included (thank you, Google) and may not be fully functional. (Email sent to owner).
