This was the perfect place for our "friends giving" weekend. The kitchen is really nice and the place was very spacious for 5 people plus a dog.
We loved hanging out on the patio and grilling. There is also a great back yard with a swing set and fire pit. Plus, the location is very convenient (about a 10 minute drive to a nice grocery store, 25 minutes to Shenandoah national park, 15 minutes to Luray caverns).
The owners are very kind and seem to have thought of everything. The cabin is very well-equipped for anything you might need (wifi, coffee, toys for kids, maps, etc). Overall a very relaxing place!
Don and BJ were perfect hosts. The cabin/log home was lovely, fully furnished and equipped with anything you might want or need on your visit (games, books, DVDs, 2 entire binders with brochures and info about things to do in the area, a blender, wine glasses, drinks and condiments in the refrig. and even delicious homemade cookies waiting on the counter.) It seems they thought of everything to make their guests feel at home. Hosts are right next door but we always felt like we had complete privacy. Hikes in the spectacular Shenadoah Mountains, music, river rafting, and Farmers Markets in the area. Hope to return in the future........
I was pleasantly surprised by this guesthouse. Everything was provided for us - just had to bring our clothes and our food - seriously!! Don and BJ furnished the guest house so graciously - from the washing machine/dryer to extra toothbrushes to homemade cookies and juices. We have 2 small children (3.5year old and 14month old) and their dogs were very friendly with them. The property is set in a secluded and quiet location. The kids loved the stream in the backyard as well as playing on the big porch. It is also located very conveniently to a lot of activities. We went hiking everyday, visited the Zoo and caverns, and just hung out at the house. Highly highly recommended!

We stayed in GarnerLand in early June. The location is fantastic if you are visiting Luray Caverns, New Market Battlefield, and Shenandoah NP. It is relatively secluded (good thing) but yet plenty close to where you can get to any of these spots within 20 minutes or so. Our hosts BJ and Don were extremely friendly and accommodating. We were able to add an additional night on short notice (since it was available and I had erred on my original reservation) with no questions or hassle. BJ had cookies and fruit as well as juice boxes in the fridge and other sundries. The size was perfect for our family of four. We really enjoyed the screened in porch at the back of the house, looking over a nice cleared area and a wooded area beyond. Thanks so much for the great stay, BJ and Don.
