“Amazing interior!”
Reviewed 13 July 2014

We stopped in on a recent trip to Sitka and was amazed at the interior of the church. The artwork and décor was amazing to see even if you are not religious. We had a conversation with the priest and learned a lot about the history of the church. I would recommending stopping in if you get the chance.

“Small but Beautiful.”
Reviewed 13 July 2014

St. Michael's Cathedral is located in downtown Sitka. The road goes on each side of this small Cathedral. While it is small the collection of Russian Icons are beautiful. Don't miss it.

“You Need To Go Inside”
Reviewed 10 July 2014

Having seen the Russian onion domed churches there I was underwhelmed by the exterior of St. Michael's. However, it is worth it to see the inside. The icons, guild, etc. inside are worth the short time it will take to go inside. There you will see what you could see what you might see in a much older Russian church.

“Learned so much!”
Reviewed 9 July 2014

We were fortunate to have a tour/talk by the local priest, who explained some of what we were seeing. It's a complex collection of icons and religious ceremonial items, which for a non-orthodox visitor is as mysterious as all the native items in the nearby Sheldon Jackson museum. Definitely worth the visit.
