The fish n chips here are a bit more expensive than we are used to, but WELL WORTH IT!!!!
First of all, they do have some good local draught beers. Then you start off with a nice salad and their blue cheese dressing is very good. Then comes a big basket of perfectly fried halibut. Several big pieces served over sweet potato fries and some good cole slaw. The fish is fresh, juicy, and tender on the inside and the outer crust is crunchy, not soft and greasy. Perfectly done. They also had good tarter sauce and chipotle ranch dipping sauce. Some seats had okay views of Crescent Harbor.
On our first visit we entered the Sports Bar instead of the Restaurant and were taken aback by the total silence in a room full of people with televisions up the "ying yang". It was May 1, 2011 and this bar full of televisions were all on CNN instead of basketball playoffs. All eyes were glued to the "news" that Osama bin Laden had been killed. Funniest "eerie" atmosphere for our first night in Alaska in a sports bar. The food was sooooo good that we returned two more times over the next three and a half days including our last meal/lunch before heading to the Alaska Marine Hwy dock at Starrigaven Bay to catch the ferry, Fairweather.
We never ventured away from the Halibut and Sweet Potato Fries. Why would we? They are the best we've ever had!
