“Best halibut & chips anywhere!”
Reviewed 27 April 2014

The fish n chips here are a bit more expensive than we are used to, but WELL WORTH IT!!!!
First of all, they do have some good local draught beers. Then you start off with a nice salad and their blue cheese dressing is very good. Then comes a big basket of perfectly fried halibut. Several big pieces served over sweet potato fries and some good cole slaw. The fish is fresh, juicy, and tender on the inside and the outer crust is crunchy, not soft and greasy. Perfectly done. They also had good tarter sauce and chipotle ranch dipping sauce. Some seats had okay views of Crescent Harbor.
On our first visit we entered the Sports Bar instead of the Restaurant and were taken aback by the total silence in a room full of people with televisions up the "ying yang". It was May 1, 2011 and this bar full of televisions were all on CNN instead of basketball playoffs. All eyes were glued to the "news" that Osama bin Laden had been killed. Funniest "eerie" atmosphere for our first night in Alaska in a sports bar. The food was sooooo good that we returned two more times over the next three and a half days including our last meal/lunch before heading to the Alaska Marine Hwy dock at Starrigaven Bay to catch the ferry, Fairweather.
We never ventured away from the Halibut and Sweet Potato Fries. Why would we? They are the best we've ever had!

“Seafood Letdown”
Reviewed 25 April 2014 via mobile

While the food started off good, with tasty appetizers, the main course came out and I was let down. I had ordered cedar plank salmon and it came out raw. It still had the odor of raw salmon, so I'm surprised it got past the cook and waitress. After calling the waitress back, she took my plate for about 10 mins and returned with the same plate... microwaved. Who microwaves a raw piece of fish and sells it for $26? No apologies and no discount. None of us wanted to go back.

“Better than most”
Reviewed 23 March 2014

Well, the big problem is that it is a hotel restaurant, so they are trying to jack you around all the time to order the most profitable stuff. But, the helpt is friendly, the kitchen is cooperative, and if you can avoid the corporate dance. you will like it. It is very much better than almost all the other restaurants in town as far as the kitchen goes. I hope you like it. I eat there about once a week, and really like it.

“BEST hashbrowns in northwest!!!”
Reviewed 17 December 2013

Hashbrowns perfectly cooked...crispiness the way hashbrowns should be but seldom are anyplace else. Had breakfast/lunch one Sunday: the four of us were pleased with what we had. Halibut pieces, omelets, salmon cobb salad, eggs and sausage. And, oh my! The two plump sausages were two of the best ever. Stopped in the lounge for lunch another day...HUGE and tasty sandwiches. Both times, the wait staff was professional, friendly, and accommodating. Did not eat at The Raven dining room as the prices were a little higher, but descriptions of the specials were mouth watering.

“Great Food”
Reviewed 3 December 2013 via mobile

Had a great dinner at the Westmark Sitka. Service a bit slow but worth the wait for great food. The fries were fantastic along with my garden fresh sandwich. Everyone had great meals and our waitress was great. Would love to return for more great tasting food. And the veiw is awesome!
