My family thoroughly enjoyed two tours with Allen Marine.
Comfortable seating with glass all the way around the bottom level, open air top level.
The knowledgeable naturalist on board explains as you cruise looking for interesting wildlife.
The crew and captain were so helpful to our family and saw to our needs beautifully.
Free coffee and hot chocolate with snacks available for purchase.
Excellent tour, where the captain took us to various areas in search of wildlife.
Successful!
Truly a memorable part of our trip.
Highly recommend.

This tour was awesome, we saw plenty of sea otters and humpback whales. We followed a few whales so that we could get plenty of pictures. The captain and the naturalistic were very informed about the area and the wildlife. It was a 3 hour tour that seemed to be over fast, I was amazed how fast the time had flown since we were having so much fun!

Did the sea otter and wildlife out of Sitka in early June. We were hardly set out before we started seeing humpback whales. By the end of the tour we saw humpback whales, sea otters, seals, bald eagles, dolphins and more unusually grey whales.

Because a lot of the female sea otter had cubs with them the captain was understandably reluctant to get too close and the raft of males were in the middle of a thick kelp bed which made it impossible to make a close approach without taking the chance of fouling the propellers.

In summary - great trip and well recommended.

We took the Sea Otter quest as an excursion from our Alaskan cruise. I have nothing bad to say about this event. The naturalist (Nancy?) was interesting, knowledgeable, and accessible for questions. She loved her job and her enthusiasm was infectious. I also appreciated the young man and woman who manned the coffee area. They were great.

And THE WILDLIFE! The trip would have been great for the scenery alone, but we saw several humpback whales, a buttload of sea otters, and a young bald eagle. Such a great day. I can't wait to do this trip again someday-don't miss it if you are in Sitka! A classy operation.

Took the Sea Otter Quest and Fortress of the Bear excursion. A pleasure from start to finish. Our naturalist was absolutely wonderful - a great learning experience. Boat was comfortable with good wildlife viewing from all areas inside, outside and above. Rafts of otters, humpbacks, sea lions, not to mention the time out on the water cruising areas not accessible by ship. Really liked how map was marked at end with location of sightings for us to photograph.
