“Nice and Friendly”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 15 February 2013

The lobby is very nice and the staff is very friendly. The room is nice but does show a bit of wear, which is to be expected given that it is right next to the Basketball Hall of Fame - which means the overall location of the hotel is excellent. You can walk to the HOF, numerous restaurants and downtown Springfield is close, but not walking distance. I was here for a trade show and the hotel was the 'hotel of choice', so the price was excellent!

The heating systems in this hotel are horrible they sound like a aircraft ready for take-off. Very hard to get a good nights rest. Ask for a room facing the front of the hotel becuause the rooms facing the back have a truck stop located there with loud trucks all day and night!

I can completely recommend this hotel. The service was absolutely over the top and stellar during my stay.
The rooms were impeccable as well as the cleaning staff helpful and outstandingly friendly.
Restaurant breakfast was equally enjoable.
5 stars all the way around!

Loved the newer decor in the lobby. Nice modern touches, small seating areas, bright fabrics and colors chosen. I enjoyed the ambiance very much. Room was pretty standard, pillows were varied and all comfortable (pillows are so important, no?). Will chose this location when in the area in future. Several restaurants within walking distance as well - Uno's Max's Tavern, Mexican place, etc. Only slight negative was the omlette in the am. Overcooked and just dry, tasteless. Stick with the eggs from buffet.

Room Tip: Room has window a/c unit which was nice to have on as white noise during the night.

We Came to Springfield to be close to schools during my daughters interviews in the area. We had booked a suite but due to renovation we were offered 2 room for the price of one( cool). We were given a good room rate and a dinner on the house at UNO for inconveniences.. We felt so at home we increased our stay here. Breakfast was in a friendly atmosphere.
A generally good stay.

Room Tip: All the rooms are large.

In town one night to see show at Springfield Symphony Hall. The hotel lobby is beautiful. The hotel staff was friendly and helpful at check in. Our room on the 4th floor was clean, spacious and comfortable. We recently stayed at hotel in Newark, NJ in a $400 room on the Concierge Floor - this room was twice as big AND twice as nice! The hotel is located in the same parking lot as Basketball Hall of Fame. Uno's Restaurant is directly next door - also accessible inside the hotel. Free parking. Starbuck's right around the corner. Returned to hotel late (after show) and realized that neither of our room cards worked. The gentleman at front desk immediately came to our room door to try. He tried so hard to help. He was apologetic and accommodating. No lights, nothing. He let us in an empty room across the hall to relax while it was straightened out. The hotel manager actually came from home to help. He was also very apologetic and kind. It ended up that the battery inside the door was dead. He replaced battery and the door opened. It did take alittle while for us to get in our room. It was fine. Things happen. The manager ended up giving us the room free of charge plus breakfast. My reservation included breakfast (package online) but he offered it anyway. Breakfast the next morning was delicious. Jeannette, our waitress served us with a smile. She was SO nice. They offer scrambled eggs, bagels, sausage, hot fries, etc. BUT the chef will make to order whatever you want (no extra charge). I ordered an egg white veggie omelet, and our kids ordered waffles. So good! The best reason to stay at this hotel is the staff. They are by far the best staff we have encountered. We travel alot and we were very impressed. The staff genuinely cares about you.

I stayed here one night and was not impressed with the hotel. The rooms are old and ugly and in desperate need of remodeling. The lobby is great and breakfast is decent, but too crowded. There was not enough room to sit. For $12 the buffet was way overpriced. This is only worth staying in to be walking distance from the Basketball Hall of Fame. Staff here is very friendly and the staff deserve to work at a modern hotel.
