“Nothing to see here”
Reviewed 11 November 2010

This mall is in the nice downtown area of Scranton, there are a few nice stores like you find at any mall but that's it. The food court is terrible. This place is a waste of time.

“Polluted air”
Reviewed 1 July 2010

I am disturbed by the stores at the Steamtown Mall carelessly spraying air freshener from it's air vents onto unaware shoppers below. The air people breathe inside the mall should not be polluted with toxic chemicals. I experienced this in Boscov's and the Bon-Ton. Also their myriad stores in the mall itself spray perfumes excessively.

In contrast, I visited Viewmont Mall today and yesterday, and did not notice any unusual perfumes or air fresheners in any of their stores. And it smelled just fine to me.

Steamtown Mall operators should be aware that air fresheners are not "fresh" at all. They are complex concoctions of synthetic chemicals that scientists have linked to cancer.

I won't be shopping there again.

“Steamtown Mall”
Reviewed 28 May 2009

The Mall at Steamtown is rather unique. The modern facility is located downtown, rather than outside of a city, and adjacent to the Steamtown National Historic Site. A long connector bridge to the mall is open during regular museum hours in the warmer months. Parking is free in the garage below the mall, and you can watch for trains passing by if you stop for a bite to eat in the food court.

“Awesome Place”
Reviewed 7 August 2008

Great mall. One of the best in Pennsylvania. There is a wide variety of stores. The food court is extremely entertaining. Even if you're not hungry, you must go. The food court has a tremendous second-floor panoramic view of Steamtown NHS. Quite often steam trains go by, as well as freight trains.
