Thank you for taking the time to share your experience as a guest at our hotel! I was very pleased to read how happy you were with our rooms.
I have stayed at this location several times over the years. It use to be a Garden Plaza. Check in time took over 10 minutes. There was one lady in front of me and it took 10 minutes to tell her that her room wasn't ready. I was there on business and my office called ahead for an early check in. I took 10 minutes for me as well. My room (along with a 3 other rooms) were prepaid under one name who who had already check us in. All I needed to do was get my room number and key.
I had a room on the fourth floor. I had a room that had been renovated with new fixtures, furniture, and bedding. The room was equipped with a very cold refrigerator (a rarity) and a microwave in the vending/ice area which was a plus. My room could also be converted into a suite. I could hear the person next door talking through the connecting door. This was not a big problem for me because I just turned the volume up on the television.
I normally don't request housekeeping service. I don't like anyone in my room when I'm not present. I usually request extra washcloths on day one. However, this time since my check in took longer than expected and my meeting was starting soon I didn't. The next morning I left a note for housekeeping indicating that I only needed washcloths! When I returned to my room my bed was made, trash had been removed, dirty towels gone, but no washcloths. I called guest services and was told someone would be right up. After 3 hours of waiting I made another request. Fifteen minutes later a man appeared with an attitude holding them as if he was holding a dirty diaper. I was almost afraid to use them.
I did eat a salad and baked potato at the restaurant for lunch. It was very good. However, the customer service was lacking for the waitress disappeared and wasn't around to fill my glass of sweet tea.
The hotel is located near numerous restaurants, Wal-mart, and the mall. The traffic, however can be a bit congested. A couple of restaurants are within walking distance.
Out of all the times I've stayed here my experience this time was the worst. This experience won't deter me from staying again.

I had the unfortunate experience of having my car broken into at this hotel. They have cameras but they do not cover the parking lot. The staff missed cleaning the room two days. This is an older hotel. Stay at the Embassy or Hampton they are must nicer hotels
I stayed at this hotel about 10 days ago. I was going into town for a business trip but my wife was able to come along and so we booked this hotel. We had previously stayed at a competitor's hotel in the area (it was very nice, but wanted to try to this one because it was about 20 bucks cheaper).
We were greeted well, and given a warm cookie (which is nice, and I'm glad for..at check-in). Our room was nice as well. We stayed on the 5th floor. There was an indoor pool, etc. Overall, it was a pretty nice hotel. Our room was clean when we arrive and no problems.
The next day, we left around 7am. My wife returned around 1pm to find that our room had not yet been attended to. She didn't think much of it, as it was still relatively early in the day, and left the rest of the afternoon. She and I returned together at 11pm that evening and our room still had not been cleaned. The bed wasn't made. No new towels or toiletries. Nothing. Thinking it was just a fluke (and because it was late) we let it go.
The next morning we left the hotel early the next morning. We stopped by the front desk and mentioned "Our room wasn't cleaned yesterday. Just wanted to be sure it would be taken care of today."
The woman apologized and assured us it would be taken care of that day.
My wife returned around 1pm again, and still it had not been taken care of. She called the front desk and inquired. The woman was surprised as she had marked it to be taken care of. My wife waited and no one ever came.
At 3pm, the woman who we had seen that morning was getting off of her shift and called to make sure the room had been attended to. It had not been and my wife was about to leave again. She asked if it could be taken care of while she was out. "Sure!"
My wife left at 4:30pm. We both returned at 11:30pm. Our room had still not been attended to.
Frustrated and tired I went to the front desk and explained the entire situation. I said, "I'm sure that's not up to your standards."
"No, sir it isn't."
Then I prompted, "Can I get some clean towels at least?"
"Oh yes sir!" Despite there being two of them there, he asked the security guard (bless her) to go to the closet and get me some towels.
"Anything else you need?"
"Well, I mean, I'm a little upset that I've been here since Wednesday and no one from housekeeping has acknowledged our presence."
"Yes sir, and we do apologize for that. Would you like a free movie for your room?"
"Well- it's 11:40 at night. I have a flight to catch tomorrow morning. I'm tired and I'm going to sleep."
"Are you checking out tomorrow?"
"Yes. I have a flight in the morning..."
"Well - we can offer you a tin of cookies. Here's a card, and you just bring that back down with you tomorrow and we'll have those for you. Would be that be all right?"
I thought to myself, "No." But I said, "If that's what you think is best."
After some prompting from the other person behind the desk, the man offered, "Well, how if we take 10% off of your rate?"
I think, "There's the customer service we need!" but I said, "Thanks, that's appreciated."
The security guard brought me my towels and I went to bed.
The next morning, my room bill came under my door. They had indeed taken 10% off my room rate...for ONE day. My room was never cleaned.
It was early enough when we left that the same gentleman was behind the desk.
I asked, "You said last night that 10% would be taken off the rate."
"Yes, sir! And as you can see here, I did that for yesterday's rate."
"Yes..I'm sorry, I thought you meant for the whole bill."
"No sir. BUT - we did give you that coupon for a tin of cookies!"
Really? He must really want me to have those...I said, "Sir, I'm getting on a plane. I'm not carrying or keeping up with a tin of cookies on the plane."
I had filled out a comment card and left it in the box. I've never received a response.
I was sent a survey last week about my stay. I never received a response.
So, after 10 days of not receiving a response, I'll just warn the rest of the world I suppose.
I am returning to Murfreesboro in March. I don't anticipate staying at this hotel.
What's the point of paying money to stay at the Doubletree by Hilton if they can't even make a bed? Even the Super 8 and Days Inn makes beds and gives you towels? The mom and pop hotel knows that you make the bed.
Thank you for sharing your comments - I must have missed your survey response through Hilton and I apologize for not contacting you sooner.
I have printed your TripAdvisor posting to show to our team in an effort to show them how important communication and follow up is to our guests. I appreciate the detail you provided!
I hope that you will give me a call at the hotel so that I can discuss this further with you. Our staff let you down several times during your stay and I am very embarassed. I would like the opportunity to make this right. I hope to hear from you soon.

Stayed here on a business trip. The hotel has improved over the years. Staff was helpful with anything needed.
Thank you for taking the time to share comments from your stay! The hotel appreciates our guest's input! We hope to see you again soon.
This hotel (a former Garden Plaza) is still a nice place, although the bathrooms are quite small, the shower head hangs quite low, and other little things need updating to compete with newer hotels. I definitely don't see this as a $100 a night hotel, but the staff was friendly and helpful. The water pressure in the rain-type shower head was impressive. I was also upgraded to the executive floor because of a hotel sell-out and enjoyed appetizers and free breakfast during my stay. All in all, a positive experience.
You are the 2nd guest to comment on the great water pressure! I am glad our staff took good care of you and that you enjoyed our Executive Level!
