“The best place to stay in Flagstaff”
Reviewed 12 October 2008

My husband and I have stayed at the Aspen Inn several times over the past two years and it is, without doubt, one of our favorite B&B's anywhere. The house is beautiful, the rooms are incredibly comfortable and it is an easy, pleasant walk (just a few blocks) to all the shops and restaurants of downtown Flagstaff. But the best part of the Aspen Inn is the owners. Joe and Raquel Sanchez are fabulous. Joe makes sure that every guest is pampered with a friendly welcome, a delious breakfast and anything else you need. Joe's wife Raquel, if you're lucky enough to be there on a weekend when she's helping in the kitchen, is a delight. I could not recommend a B&B more highly than the Aspen Inn.

On the 26 May 2008 my husband and I drove to Flagstaff from the Grand Canyon. We stayed at this B&B. On our arrival we met Joe the Inn Keeper. He was most welcomming and did his best to help us with evreything we may need. He provided information about the Area and was very knowledgeable.

We stayed in Emily's room and it was on the ground floor. The room was clean with a small fridge and a bathroom. The lounge was beautifull and large and very comfortable to sit and relax. It really felt like we were in our own home. The trains I could hear the first night, however Joe told us that they are not going to make a noise anymore as that is all changing. I am a light sleeper and to be honest got used to it.
The breakfast at the Inn was wonderfull all served in the little dinning room. Joe is an excellent cook and we enjoyed his breakfast very much. The portions are just right,( as we struggled with most American breakfasts because of the portion sizes ) you can also request what time you would like your breakfast.

The Inn is not far from the historical town. However driving is a bit of a chore if you do not have a GPS as alot of the streets are one way systems and can be hard to negotiate. The historical downtown is very convenient and many restauarants around and shops. There is a mall but it is further away.

Overall our stay at the Inn was great for the price which is very reasonable. I would definitely stay here again. You could not ask for more welcomming and friendly people thant Joe and Raquel!!!!

  • Liked — Friendlyness and helpfulness of the Inn Keeper as well as the reasonable price and cleanliness and comfortable rooms
  • Disliked — Nothing...we liked evreything!!!

The Aspen Inn is the definition of what a bed and breakfast should be. In addition to the cool weather of Flagstaff, my wife and I enjoyed the serenity of a home that exuded world class service and food. We were amazed with the care and warmth of the fully restored home, and found the simple rooms ideal for total relaxation. It is easy to understand why the Aspen Inn is by far the most successful B&B in Flagstaff, and the innkeepers are intent on maintaining an atmosphere that truly feels like a home away from home. The Inn is located blocks away from downtown Flagstaff, and with so many acitivites within walking distance, I must also admit we received one of the best nights of sleep in years. I look forward to returning to Joe and Raquel's Inn, especially for the homemade breakfast, and highly recommend this B&B experience!!

This is the most hospitable B&B we have ever stayed at. Joe & Raquel really want everyone to have a memorable stay and go out of their way to make it that way. We both felt as though we had made some new friends. They are just so nice! Our room, the Wilson room was so comfortable and pleasant. We had a private entryway and there was a really nice deck outside of our door that we enjoyed. The breakfast was so well presented and very tasty. And we felt so comfortable just wondering around the house and enjoying the music in the large living room. We will certainly go back.

We stayed at the Aspen Inn on our way to the Grand Canyon and found a great surprise! We met Joe the minute we walked up and from there things just got better. Rooms were spacious and comfy (we stayed in the Wyatt Room) and it did feel like we were home. Raquel fixed us the best breakfast I've ever had! They really make you feel at home and found out that Joe lived near us growing up!! Located in a quiet neighborhood, close to the center of the downtown, nice views, great breakfast...the Aspen Inn can't be beat! Can't wait to return to Flagstaff, and you bet we'll be booking at the Aspen Inn Bed and Breakfast!
