“Super friendly staff. Well done!”
Reviewed 28 December 2013 via mobile

I arrived at SnowBowl after finding it easily despite having never spent any time in Flagstaff. I took notice that nearly every staff member I interacted with was exceptionally friendly and happy. The parking was organized and free. There was a greeter who directed me to the lodge for rentals and tickets. I arrived about 9am and signed up for lesson/rental/lift ticket for 3. They should station a staff member in the waiting area for rentals to answer questions and instruct people to fill out the form. Although it was easy enough to figure out. The line took about 45 minutes to get through at that time of the morning, but appeared longer and longer throughout the morning until about 12 when it finally cleared out. The cashier was friendly but she could have given is some tips on how to save $ rather than upselling. The cost for everything was $275 (1 adult, 1 teen, 1 kid) including 3 helmets. Ouch. That was expensive.
The equipment was good- no problems. There was another greeter at the foot of the ski hill/instruction area who was directing people. I appreciated his directions but he didn't seem actually interested in helping anyone. He perhaps shouldn't be a greeter...
Nonetheless we were on our way! We had a really fun time. Everyone there was having a really fun time! Lift attendants were friendly and helpful. Had lunch at the lower lodge for $20 for 3 and sat outside where a musician/singer provided some nice entertainment. (All the food was pizza, hot dogs, burgers, type food)
The entertainers were good and gave the place a nice vibe.
Inside was a place to warm up and served alcohol as well. I had a plain hot chocolate for $2.40.
Several people brought food and drink from home- I think I saw a sign "please no coolers" or something to that effect. Good to know you can bring food/drink in. There are lockers for $0.75 or $1.00 around the equipment rental area. Bring lots of quarters. The locker room allows for indoor changing area and a restroom which was kept very clean all day. Locker room attendants were on the spot with helping get change, fix the lock on the locker. Nice. The ski shop has gloves, ski pants, neck warmers, etc. that you forgot.
The lodge also provided free water to everyone which was really nice.
Overall this is a well run place with friendly people. I really enjoyed it and would recommend it.

Thank Gigi376

“Enjoyable Experience - Excellent Instruction”
Reviewed 25 December 2013

Visited Snowbowl for the first time a couple of weeks ago. Hadn't skied for several years and so took a lesson. The instructor was extremely capable and encouraging. Felt that I learned or re-learned a lot in a very short time with his guidance. Other staff were equally friendly and accommodating. Snowbowl itself has somewhat limited facilities compared to places like Vail, Aspen or Winter Park; but the scenery, accessible slopes and relatively short lift lines combine to make this a most enjoyable experience. Plan on going back when next in Arizona.

Arizona Snowbowl is great. The staff are friendly and efficient, and the cost of skiing there is low compared to other places. It was our second visit this year and really don't want to ever go anywhere else!!

Whack!! As normal, they want their profits over customer satisfaction. This year, today 12/14 they show a majority of trials being open including ridge, WRONG, way wrong-instead they funneled everyone down to Blackjack and moguls. I enjoy moguls but it was very apparent most of the other people were suckered in like me, and most were having a really hard time getting down without falling. People should know their skill level of course BUT even more appropriate would be for Snowbowl to advertise properly what is open or CLOSED. The same with their wind holds. People drive up thinking Agassiz lift is open only to be confined to the Sunset lift adding insult to injury it’s at the full mountain rate- RIDICULOUS. They have tried to be better about this latter issue but none the the less they are in it for money and if you get tricked into driving up especially from PHX it’s extremely disappointing and very greedy on SB’s part. Why I never will buy another season pass, f@#k them and their BS (been a few years-learned long ago).
Here I come Colorado and AZ backcountry!!

Unbelievable scenery, nice fun staff, a good value and entirely well worth it.
The employees here are generally really friendly and fun. The lodge food is actually decent.
