“Decent Property, but poorly run”
Reviewed 4 August 2013

I've stayed in a number of Fairfield Inns over the years. This one should lose its franchise. Based on my experience, the management of this hotel is appalling. They just don't get the details right. The cups in the room leaked water, the breakfast room was constantly out of coffee, the internet login is annoying.

What the hotel horrible? No. But it is run about as well as a state monopoly: think of the Post Office, or the Russian Railroad system and you will understand what I mean.

Stayed here one night while traveling through. At a Fairfield Inn, you expect a little bit more, an upscale motel/hotel experience. This Fairfield Inn looks like someone bought a motel and called it a Fairfield Inn. The rooms are small - tiny bathroom, you have to be careful when you open the door so you don’t ‘whack’ the person sitting at the desk. The one lounge chair is right up against the AC unit, which has no temperature control, and only operates off or on.

The bed was comfortable, the internet works fine, and the micro fridge is a nice touch.

Breakfast was not so nice - the breakfast nook is small, they had a bus tour that jammed them up early, then they ran out of large paper plates, and most all of the food - no hardboiled eggs, no scrambled eggs, no sausages, etc. The Sysco truck was uploading supplies as we left. Again, one expects more at a Fairfield Inn.

The rooms were clean standard sized with two beds and with small bathroom. It is good reasonable priced place to stop for a night. The breakfast was average with waffles, mixed fruit, and and muffins. Stayed on third floor in which the rooms were "inside" the hotel. Rooms on 1st and 2nd floor are like motel rooms with the doors outside facing parking lot. My only complaint is odor in the room which smells like wet carpet or mildewed carpet. With the A/C off the room feels kind of muggy. The beds are somewhat comfortable and the softness or firmness doesn't matter when you are tired from long drive. The hotel is close to shopping center with different stores and restaurants and near major highway. Overall, Fairfield Inn served its purpose as pit stop.

Nice clean room. Not too large but adequate. But there was much noise from adjacent rooms. Whenever people walked around in the room above, the floor creaked loudly (and they did a lot of walking late in the evening). An whenever somebody around used the bathroom, the installations were very noisy.
Breakfast was ok, but not more. The breakfast room was very crowded, and although the busy staff was running to fill up, they could not follow the demand.
All in all good enough, but not worth the price.

The hotel was clean, slightly dated, breakfast same every day with crowded eating area. The pool area was well-maintained. Compared with other hotels in the area, the price was better. What made the hotel exceptional was the staff, very accommodating, very friendly. All in all, an adequate stay, clean room for reasonable price. Average stay.

My friends and I stayed here in late May 2013 on a road trip out west. We were visiting the Grand Canyon the following morning and just needed a clean place to stay for one night. I like the Marriott family of hotels, but my expectations for Fairfields are always low, and this one just barely met those expectations.

Arrival was fine. We got there late so we didn't have to wait long to check in. The front desk staff was very friendly. Our rate was around $90 (a special rate through my workplace). For that, we got a room on the third floor (the only floor with interior corridors - weird) that was average at best. The hallways and stairwell had a bad odor and were hot, but the room was basically clean. The mattresses were thin and hard. This worked out okay for me because I prefer a firm mattress, but those that prefer a plush bed will not be comfortable. The amenities are basic, but adequate (they use Pantene hair products for those that are interested). The breakfast, which is usually one of Fairfield's only perks, was just okay. The selection of hot food was limited to sausage only, which I believe relegates their claim of a "hot" breakfast to a bit of a stretch. To be fair, the limited breakfast was of decent quality. And their coffee bar was much better than most continental breakfasts. Check-out was a breeze.

Overall, this hotel is adequate if your stay is not long and you are working within a budget.

Room Tip: Ask for the third floor if you prefer the security of interior corridors.

The hotel room was very small. I was told they only have rooms with king beds, must be because the rooms won't hold 2 beds of any size. No place to put your luggage except the desk, desk chair, small side chair or floor. The bathroom is extremely small. In the morning I found my watch, jewelry, and cosmetics sitting in water next to the sink. Don't know what happened but never had this occur at another hotel. The outdoor hot tub was only medium temp. We spent 4 nights on the road this summer, this was the highest priced room and definitely the worst. Should have had a clue when I walked into the lobby and it seemed cramped and small. It fits with the rest of the facility. Will never stay at a Fairfield Inn again.
