Start at the Visitor center which is located at the Railroad Depot where the Amtrak comes in. There is a museum and store there and the staff is helpful with providing information. Request a map outlining the historic downtown area which also lists the majority restaurants, stores, attractions. The Chamber of Commerce is right next door if you want more information. We walked the entire historic district in about an hour. There are interesting shops, the Heritage Square park, and lots of unique areas to explore. There is one public restroom in the center of the historic district. We had lunch at Fratelli's and it was delicious.
