“Good size dog park”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 4 January 2014 via mobile

We took our dog here while traveling and had a great time. The dog park is across the street from the main park, over by the baseball fields. Big parking lot, friendly people and well behaved local dogs. Note: bring your own water! The park is currently under construction and is well fenced off but there isn't a working water fountain so be sure to bring your own water. Also bring a towel so you can dry off your dog. The ice was melting in places creating mud so we rinsed our dogs paws off before getting back into the car. Have fun!

“Good Dog Park, Decent Playground, Clean Bathrooms”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 7 December 2013

We were out of towners and needed a place to let both the kids and the dog burn off some energy while we had a picnic lunch. We were referred to Thorpe Park. It did the trick. We first went to the South end and ate lunch and let the kids enjoy the playground. Playground was entertaining, clean, and well-maintained. There is close parking, too, so you don't need to walk far. It was cool outside, but the playgrounds in the sun which helped to keep us warm.

Then we proceeding to take the pooch to the dog park. It was a decent dog park. Two separate pens for different sized or aggressive dog separation. the dog park is mostly dirt. Lots of dust and high potential for mud. Amazingly, my white Sheppard (see profile pic) actually stayed pretty dry. We met a few locals that were hanging out and they were really friendly. The dog park was pretty clean, too. Not much poop laying around.

We hit the bathrooms as we walked from the playground to the dog park. Rather than use the portapotties at either location, we just stepped into the senior center which we were passing. Everyone was friendly and welcomed us. No one gave us a look like we weren't supposed to be there. SO we stayed a few minutes, warmed up, used the facilities. My kids even played with the billiards which are right by the entrance.

“Good Family Fun”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 26 September 2013

It’s a great place to take your kids to and the whole family even! There is enough space for everybody, without the crowds. WE can eat and have fun without feeling limited and I really like that. My family and I wouldn’t usually go out of our way to the park for a picnic, but this was all worth it. We even brought our dogs and they themselves had enough to run around and play with our kids. It was a great fun time with the children, especially if they love sports like baseball, tennis and handball.

“Great fishing”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 9 September 2013

I would frequently visit this park to fish. Now the pond is only about a acre in size but offers some pretty decent fishing. Now some days are always going to be better than others but I have always enjoyed coming here to fish.
