“Best tour of the Canyon - thank you Zack!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 16 August 2012

We couldn't have asked for a better tour of the Grand Canyon! We were visiting from the west coast and it was great to have the small bus pick us up at the Grand Hotel where we were staying. Our tour was just 8 people and our guide Zack greeted each of us individually and continued to have a friendly, professional demeanor throughout our SIX hours together! He made conversation as we entered the park and provided us with cold water and soda, as well as sunscreen and ponchos for when it began raining later on - thank goodness they provided us with all the necessary things we forgot!
Zack drove us around the southern and eastern rim, stopping along the way at multiple lookouts. At each stop, he provided us with a wealth of information, answered all of our questions and gave us several options as to how we could spend the next half hour. He brought a telescope and would position it so we could see mine shaft entrances, the river, rock formations, etc. Zack covered everything from history to geology to hiking information to facts about the Canyon.
Lunch was delightful as well - an assortment of cold cut sandwiches, huge fresh fruit platter, cookies, chips and sodas. Even when it began raining, Zack continued to stay positive and upbeat, which made us enjoy the Canyon just as much as when it was sunny! Finally, on our way back, when we spotted deer on the side of the road, he stopped the bus, turned around and let us snap pictures and ask questions.
Thanks Angel's Gate and Zack for a great visit for our family! If you're visiting the Canyon, definitely go with on a tour and definitely go with Angel's Gate!

“The BEST way to see the Grand Canyon for the first time!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 28 July 2012

Visiting friends in the Surprise, AZ, area and we decided all of us would go see the Grand Canyon. Research turned up Angel's Gate Tours with high marks, and we booked with them. Everything was as they said - GREAT guide (Shawn) who gave us history about the canyon, the pioneers who 'founded' various places, the topography and plant and animal life. Shawn was also VERY knowledgeable about how the canyon was formed, what types of layers we saw, what events created them, and just about everything else we wanted to know. A GREAT lunch was provided, and he made sure we were well hydrated at all times. The ONLY negative was that we were NOT able to have our van "never full" due to our group of 4 being joined by two MORE groups of 4 - not an empty seat on the van, but it wasn't an issue.

Overall, we all COMPLETELY enjoyed this tour. We couldn't have asked for a better guide. Absolutely worth it, and no better way to see the canyon on your first trip.

“Great trip, nice people”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 18 July 2012

Our original plan was to do our own thing and drive to the Grand Canyon. I'm glad we didn't. the $109 each was well worth it. It was recommended by the desk at the Flagstaff Quality Inn. It was very good advice. We were collected by Matt at 8.45 and joined seven others. Matt was always pleasant and informative, talking about the volcanoes in the area, the trees, just about anything we could see on the journey. He took us to some of the best spots for seeing the Canyon, and we saw far more than if we'd done it alone. He was able to pick our interesting things to see, and with his telescope we got to see detail few others would. The picnic lunch was excellent, and far more than we could all eat. Any tips he received at the end of the day were well earned. Thanks to Matt and Angel's Gate Tours we've had a memorable day. Small they might be (which may cause some problems), but they give good value for money.

“Great way to see the Grand Canyon”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 18 July 2012

We traveled from the East coast and planned to see the Canyon as a group of 13. We decided to hire a private tour guide instead of taking the train out of Williams or getting on a tour bus. It was the best decision. Our guide, Corey was awesome. He promptly picked us up at our hotel in Flagstaff by 8:45am in a private shuttle bus and we returned by approximately 5:30-6pm. We went in through the East entrance and came out via the South entrance. He was extremely knowledgeable and informative about the canyon, the history, the geography etc.. We learned and saw things that normally you would skip or not be aware of. The best thing was that we did not have to worry about driving, where to stop, what place to shop in, etc... Corey took care of all that. We also were treated to a great picnic lunch and cold drinks were provided all day. It wasn't cheap but considering you may only visit the canyon once, it was well worth it. Highly recommend this tour.

“Grand Canyon tour”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 16 July 2012

My family recently booked a tour with Angel's Gate to visit the Grand Canyon. I highly recommend it. Our tour guide Corey was great. He was helpful , patient and informative. He even took our group pictures. There were 13 of us (ages 8 to 51)so we had our own personal van which was a welcome relief to the people who always had to do the driving. We went to places at the Grand Canyon that were not crowded. We even fed the mules. Our lunch was fresh and delicious. The unlimited bottles of water were also appreciated. I would recommend this tour.
