We own a timeshare in Sedona and traded through RCI for this unit in Flagstaff. Upon Arrival, June 5th, the gals at the front counter were very nice and helpful. Easy check in. The unit itself was comfy and cozy. We had a one bedroom with a king bed, newer dressers, nightstands, small closet but it was enough for us. The bathroom was ok. The toilet sat very low, and the tub (a jacuzzi one) was awkwardly large. We never used it as a jacuzzi, but my 6yo loved swimming in it - ha ha.
We had a 14yo and 6yo, so my son slept on the pull out sofa and we got a roll away bed for my daughter at no extra charge.
The kitchen was nice, we cooked many meals. My only complaint was that there was not a spatula, so making hamburgers and pancakes was tricky but we managed. Other than that, it was well appointed, a small box of condiments, cleaners, etc. was provided. The coffee maker looked brand new, so that was great, but I had to hold the handle down on the toaster to make toast. The microwave was pretty new as well, and much like mine at home, so that was convenient.
The TV's worked well and the dvd players were easy to figure out. Free Wi-Fi in the room came in handy.
We had a small patio, but never really sat out there, we parked our bicycles out on it mostly. One con was that the pine trees shed their pollen, and the yellow dust was on everything.
There was a little lake within walking distance, with nice walking/bike paths.
The Activity Center was good. The staff was very friendly and my daughter loved swimming. This is a no frills swimming pool, but it was heated, so that was great. The outdoor jacuzzi has massively powerful bubbles - plan on getting your hair/face wet if you're sitting in front of a jet.
The movie room played "Cars" while we were there, and my kids loved the oversized bean bag chairs. The Activity Center also sells icecream, icees, and other treats and my daughter did a craft there for $1.
We got wrangled into the presentation and recieved a $75 Amex card and a "free week" any where/anytime. Well the AMex card worked great but the "free week" has plenty of exclusions, costs $249 for exhange and expires in six months - that was a ripoff. We were held hostage for 2.5 hours - not the 60 minutes they claimed it would take for the presentation. My advice, Don't Buy - they will keep bringing out offer after offer, but be strong and just say NO an collect your gift. I've been a timeshare owners since the early 90's - not a good deal and the points system is not much better - its very overpriced. If you really break down what it costs to go on vacation in comparison to exchange fees, maintenance fees and other owner related fees, you're better off just going on vacation somewhere and booking a hotel.
The resort itself was pretty sweet considering its age. I would stay again for sure, but definely pass up on the presentation with "free" gifts.
