“Comfortable & Clean little Condo”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 12 June 2011

We own a timeshare in Sedona and traded through RCI for this unit in Flagstaff. Upon Arrival, June 5th, the gals at the front counter were very nice and helpful. Easy check in. The unit itself was comfy and cozy. We had a one bedroom with a king bed, newer dressers, nightstands, small closet but it was enough for us. The bathroom was ok. The toilet sat very low, and the tub (a jacuzzi one) was awkwardly large. We never used it as a jacuzzi, but my 6yo loved swimming in it - ha ha.

We had a 14yo and 6yo, so my son slept on the pull out sofa and we got a roll away bed for my daughter at no extra charge.

The kitchen was nice, we cooked many meals. My only complaint was that there was not a spatula, so making hamburgers and pancakes was tricky but we managed. Other than that, it was well appointed, a small box of condiments, cleaners, etc. was provided. The coffee maker looked brand new, so that was great, but I had to hold the handle down on the toaster to make toast. The microwave was pretty new as well, and much like mine at home, so that was convenient.

The TV's worked well and the dvd players were easy to figure out. Free Wi-Fi in the room came in handy.

We had a small patio, but never really sat out there, we parked our bicycles out on it mostly. One con was that the pine trees shed their pollen, and the yellow dust was on everything.

There was a little lake within walking distance, with nice walking/bike paths.

The Activity Center was good. The staff was very friendly and my daughter loved swimming. This is a no frills swimming pool, but it was heated, so that was great. The outdoor jacuzzi has massively powerful bubbles - plan on getting your hair/face wet if you're sitting in front of a jet.

The movie room played "Cars" while we were there, and my kids loved the oversized bean bag chairs. The Activity Center also sells icecream, icees, and other treats and my daughter did a craft there for $1.

We got wrangled into the presentation and recieved a $75 Amex card and a "free week" any where/anytime. Well the AMex card worked great but the "free week" has plenty of exclusions, costs $249 for exhange and expires in six months - that was a ripoff. We were held hostage for 2.5 hours - not the 60 minutes they claimed it would take for the presentation. My advice, Don't Buy - they will keep bringing out offer after offer, but be strong and just say NO an collect your gift. I've been a timeshare owners since the early 90's - not a good deal and the points system is not much better - its very overpriced. If you really break down what it costs to go on vacation in comparison to exchange fees, maintenance fees and other owner related fees, you're better off just going on vacation somewhere and booking a hotel.

The resort itself was pretty sweet considering its age. I would stay again for sure, but definely pass up on the presentation with "free" gifts.

Unit 34A - 1 BR - bigger and better than 34B - thin walls but condo was clean, well stocked, good bedding and towels. No blackout curtains - but we had to get up early most days anyway. Our unit just short walk from outdoor pools and rec center. Pools heated quite well enough for swimming in cool mornings and hot tub temp was always kept at 102 at least - opened at 7:30am and closed around 9pm with showers and changing room. Rec center also had cute mini golf, videos and games for rent, snacks, and activities for everyone. Condo was north east end of Flagstaff so Sedona and Grand Canyon routes close by. Strongly suggest driving to Grand Canyon East entrance and seeing half of park by car then catching tour buses at Visitor Center to see western sights - much less traffic than going thru Williams to South entrance. Go early to both GC & Sedona. Sedona gets hot and GC has a lot to see.

Room Tip: As are better than Bs - check layouts on websites

Stayed here end of May on an RCI exchange. Echo previous reviewers comments: Resort is slightly dated but a great option for Flagstaff. Could have used a little more kitchen accessories, but did have a jacuzzi on the deck to sit out a look at the stars.

Visited Meteor Crater and Walnut Canyon Cliff Dwellings, Wupatki / Sunset Crater / Grand Canyon, and Sedona. Be sure to eat at Oregano's and grab a bag of hot donuts!

Room Tip: Accessible units are available.

We just got back from a seven day hiking adventure in Flagstaff. The resort had great amenities including an on-site spa, rec center, swimming pool and jacuzzi. We were also fortunate enough to have a private jacuzzi on our deck looking out over Mt. Eldon. A very nice way to relax and ease those aching muscles. The only suggestions I could make to Wyndham is to amp up the pots, pans and cooking accessories. We like to enjoy a fancy dinner in and were challenged with the equipment provided. No worries, though, we made it work. Also, the mattress was lumpy in the King room.

Room Tip: Not all units have a jacuzzi.

We have nothing but great things to stay. The 2 bedroom unit was perfect for our family of four. Great views, clean, nice family area with fireplace. Full kitchen. Most importantly though, the staff was terrific. They went out of their way to be helpful, including spending almost an hour with us helping to select and plan activities. They even made the reservations and dropped off the confirmations to our town house (with a disposable camera for the kids). We could not have been happier. If you go, try Mama Leone's on Route 66. Great Italian food... good prices and really friendly. We went there twice during our week.

Even though this resort is now over 20 years old it is really nicely laid out, the units were roomy with nice furniture, LCD tv, kitchen a little dated but was fine, great activities center with coffee shop (starbucks coffee), Wi, XBox etc. Safeway/Shops just up the road. It is a bit out of town so you will need a car. The only downside was we went to the Timeshare presentation which we know you should not do at any of these places. They misled/lie about the prize for going.
