The staff at this La Quinta in Flagstaff was just wonderful. Everyone from the Front Desk staff to Housekeeping and Maintenance staff were accommodating, friendly and very helpful.
A pet friendly property with no additional charge, well kept rooms and grounds in a very convenient location. Be sure to make it a point to take your pet to Fort Tuthill for a great hike.

We spent 2 nights in Flagstaff staying at this La Quinta. About 20 minutes after checking in the receptionist was checking to see if all was to our needs. We reserved in advance and wanted a ground floor room - easy access for our dog. The room has new furniture and really looks smart. It was a large room in a quiet corner of the establishment.

We were a little skeptical based on some of the reviews, but this La Quinta was recently remodeled and was very nice with contemporary decor. They honored all our room requests and were very professional. The bed was a little hard but otherwise we were very comfortable.

We really enjoyed this hotel. The room was very large and the beds were comfortable. The staff was very friendly and gave us a $5 coupon for the local Olive Garden, then called that evening to see if the room was to our liking. The breakfast was adequate, though hard boiled eggs were the only source of lean protein, and very much like every other hotel on our road trip. The pool was well heated, but outdoors, so we didn't try it with our young kids.

My wife and I stayed here with our dog and 2 ferrets while traveling back West from the Midwest over the holidays. It's a great hotel which is clean, comfortable, and friendly. The breakfast is a typical La Quinta breakfast, and it's always plenty and free- cereal, muffins, waffles, beverages, etc. Wi-Fi is free as with all LQ's, as are pets. They have a heated pool and hot tub open year round, and it was nice with all the snow around. Rooms were spacious, clean, and had comfortable beds. Nothing to complain about.

The hotel looks good from the outside but once inside you can see how everything is just old, worn out and not clean: the carpet, the furniture, the doors, just everything!
The hotel was full and as pets are allowed it was just not possible to relax in a quiet environment and sleeping at night was not easy.
We ordered food at a restaurant in the neighborhood: the menu was in our room but the staff was not friendly...
The breakfast was just okay but the one again the staff was not helpful...
We would not stay at that hotel ever again

The La Quinta is okay as a stopover. The lobby is very nice but the rooms don't really live up to the first impression upon entering the hotel. Don't get me wrong -- it's clean, but it could use a bit of updating. Some La Quintas are really outstanding but this one could use a remodel. The rugs and furnishings are a bit worn, and there is an overall "basic" feeling to the place. The wireless Internet did work very well, and the front desk people were great and very helpful.

The price here *seems* good, but that's because Flagstaff costs a bit more to stay than some of the other freeway towns. The mid-range chains like Hampton and Holiday Inn Express are present but are more expensive (I think in the $125 range). We paid about 75 bucks for the La Quinta.

We were woken up around 5AM by barking dogs in the hall. So it's pet-friendly if you're traveling with animals, but if you're not then you may get an unwanted serenade like we did.

The location is convenient, just a block or two from the I-17/I-40 junction, and a similar distance from NAU and downtown.

We ate at the Beaver Street Brewery which had some great pizzas as well as some good beers.

Be sure to visit the Lowell observatory after dark, where they let you look through the big telescopes -- it was trained on Jupiter the night we were there.
