The hotel was excellent, location convenient (if not an attractive part of town) and most important the clerk at the front desk (named Zachary) was extremely helpful and courteous. My only complaint was that the fitness room is a bit sparse on options (though they did offer for me to go to a nearby health club which I declined) and my room wasn't made up completely when I arrived but I was given a key and the maid was there. She graciously said I could leave off my things which I did, but even about an hour later, she had not completely finished the room. Still, a good property and a good price.

HGI is a step above our usual choice of Hampton. When you step up you get something and lose something while paying more. In this case, the room was bigger, with better furniture and appliances and nicer amenities. Very, very comfortable bed. Good quality towels. Lots of extra blankets and pillows. The most wonderful cookies in the evening. But you don't get breakfast included. Of course, you can go down and pick up a free muffin that appears to have come from a supermarket, or go to the reasonable Coco's restaurant next door. But we chose HGI this time because it was.... $28 + tax cheaper? How does that happen?

Anyway, there were some downsides. The toilet must be one of those water efficient models that use massive suction like on airplanes - waking up everyone within three rooms in any direction. Same with the rest of the plumbing. Careful when you close the door - it may not shut completely. Give it a tug to make sure. Oh, the free coffee in the lobby is great, but we really missed the "robust" blend that's so nice at Hampton. Also, like the previous reviewer, we noticed the cutout situation for the sprinkler. We're not quite sure how much we believed anything the used car salesman at the front desk in the afternoon/evening told us. But overall, a good stay.

A very nice, pleasant place to stay in Flagstaff. Clean, bright and an inviting lobby. Conveniently located to major highways and the city. Great jumping off point for many of the area's attractions. Pool and fitness rooms are well kept and there is an outdoor sitting are at the front door. Love the fireplace on the cold mornings.

Good location close to restaurants. Room was very clean and well upkept. Facilities are good with no bad neighborhoods nearby. Staff was extremely pleasant and helpful. Beds were disappointing. Breakfast was an extra $9.99 per person so we ate else where.

I recently stayed at the Hilton Garden in and can say the staff is extremely attentive to their guests. Room was clean but did remind me of a motel room with a window ac/heat system. They had a pool and jacuzzi right off lobby with a excercise room that looked upon them. The lobby was very welcoming with a fireplace and cookies. My only concern on the property was that the room fire sprinkler head was recessed behind the ceiling sheetrock. The sheet rock was cutout around the sprinkler head but the head itself did not protrude into the room. If there was a fire the water would not disperse throughout the room but only on top of the ceiling sheetrock. Good location and a good stopping place for visiting other attractions in the area

Dear LLuvnNewJersey:

Thank you for taking the time to comment on your recent stay. We truly appreciate all your kind words about our hotel and its staff. I would like to clear up your concern over our sprinkler system. We have what are known as concealed sprinkler heads which are designed to popdown into the room from the ceiling if there was ever a fire. From your description it sounds like the decorative cover is missing which is only designed to cover the rough edges of the hole in the drywall that the sprinkler heads would popdown through. This decorative piece does nothing for the function of the system is easily replaceable just in case you lose one or you change the paint color of the ceiling so that it blends into the room. This system is very common in commercial buildings and residental settings not only because of there effectivness but also for there aesthetic value. Again we do appreciate your feedback as well as your concern. We look forward to seeing you next time your in Flagstaff.

The hotel was very clean and staff were helpful. Pool and hot tub facility was a hit with the family. The hotel location was excellent for short trips and offered a variety of sight seeing opportunities nearby. Breakfast choices were excellent. We would stay at this Hilton hotel again.
