Great Hotel with new refurbishments

5.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed 7 Jul 2017
This was actually our second visit to this hotel. We stayed previously two years ago in the March. The block that we stayed in had just been refurbished and the rooms were lovely and well equipped.
The staff are very pleasant and friendly.
In the restaurant our server Meagan even remembered us from 2 years ago!!
The restaurant is good for dinner, and the breakfast buffet was delicious too.

Recently went with my wife, son and his wife to Flagstaff. Originally made reservation on Hotel.com without any issues at all. Check-in is a breeze with strange but very effective metal key to unlock room. Never seen this before but worked flawlessly. Room itself was very clean as was the entire hotel. Room decor very dated from 1950's/early 1960's. While the room itself had a very good bed and flat screen, the bathroom had the low 30 inch sinks and old style lighting. Cleaning people were great--efficient and very pleasant. Multiple large buildings and only one ice machine on first floor. Unable to get hotel nearer Grand Canyon but very glad that I failed. This was a much better location with easy access to multiple good restaurants in Flagstaff. Drive to GC was about 60 minutes but not a big deal. I liked the place a lot but it does desperately need a face lift.

Room tip: Really unimportant since despite being close to Route 40 very quiet

I've been staying at this hotel since it opened. I recently visited July 1-5 for the holiday events. Buildings 3 and 4 are newly renovated. Beautiful. Buildings 1 and 2 to be renovated next year but still luxurious. Where do I start. The lobby is stunning. Floor to ceiling wood burning fireplace welcomes weary and cold travelers in the winter. Read about the history of the original Little America in Wyoming for an understanding of this group of hotels. Decor is rich wood floors with subtle blues and browns. Gorgeous forest fires. The restaurant and lounge are excellent for families and intimate dining. The gift shop has been upgraded to include items for designer decor. I feel so relaxed and refreshed after staying here.

We were there for one night. Loved our room! We loved the restaurant! The updates in the restaurant and lobby are great. We were there for our anniversary. We were there 16 years ago! Still just as nice!

Room tip: Room ground level, quite. Looked out over the parking lot. Nice & clean. The bed very comfortable! Separate living area. Plenty of room!

If you plan on spending time with kids at a hotel in Flagstaff, this is a good one to keep them busy. There are many places to explore like the playground, large grassy areas, volleyball court, horseshoes, 1.6 mile nature path and great pool and spa. The updated rooms are nice, I didn't notice any renovations going on but some of the hallways still look like the old style.
