Always a treat. Great atmosphere and service. Good food. Nice for a date or with friends. Laid back and casual but at the same time a touch of class.

Enjoyed a night out at this great wine and food destination a few weeks ago.
Terrific choice of wines at great prices, even with the $7.00 corkage fee they include if you pick a wine from their inventory and they open it for you at the bar.
Great choice of small plates, inventive menu and good service.
The atmosphere was "right on" with the perfect low key lighting that so many other establishments get wrong!
Choice of board games was a plus and a great way to spend our time while we enjoyed our food and wine.
Looking forward to our next visit!

There are now four major wine bars in Flagstaff. This is best:
- Carefully selected collection of very interesting wines in all price ranges
- Lots of option by the glass
- Also a lot of beer options
- Nice little food menu
- Beautifully redone décor; inviting atmosphere
Only issue is you have to walk up some steps - but it is worth it. Check it out!

The wine Bar and Bistro is located on the second floor of a downtown building above an art gallery. Quite honestly it is a lot of steps - the good side of that is the venue seems to be a little less crowded than the average place downtown, maybe "out of sight out of mind"? Both the beer and wine options are great, you can also buy bottles of wine at retail price (if you want to open at the venue "corkage" fees apply) and the selection there is quite good as well. The food is solid but I don't really think of this as a full service restaurant. Cheese plates, meat plates, daily soup, sandwiches, salads, a special. Think of it as "heavy apps". The ambiance is nice... clean and modern but warm and comfortable at the same time. They have board games you can use, etc. Is isn't a loud crowd so nice and relaxed. The only downside I can think of (beyond not being a full "restaurant") is it is beer and wine only, no cocktails. I love a well made cocktail and there are plenty of places in Flag to get one.... not here. That being said, both the beer and wine options are well beyond the "typical" which is great. Also I rated the service a "3"... NOT because it isn't good, in fact everyone is very friendly, it is more of a "bar" type service as opposed to a "restaurant" type service. For what it is I consider the service very good to excellent.

Thanks for your review -- we're glad you found us! And you're correct -- we're not a full service restaurant, rather we're a wine bar that serves small plates of food. Our state liquor license is for wine and beer only, so we strive to be the best place in Flagstaff to get a bottle or glass of wine or a Belgian-style beer, and we hope that everyone who wants a little food with their wine or beer can enjoy some excellent bites. We find that many of our patrons have no problem making a meal out of multiple small plates, with the advantage of being able to sample many of our offerings by sharing various bites around a table of friends. And many folks seek us out for our homemade ice creams -- we hope you had a chance to sample those as well! We appreciate your kind words about our wine selection and our friendly service, and hope to see you again soon!

Great wine bar, with terrific small plates. Frankly I'm not an wine person but the other three dining companions are which works just fine. The small plates were exceptional in my judgement. Between us we had crab cakes, stuffed dates, tri-tip salad, capers salad, seafood soup of the day, poutine, and another dish (stuffed something or other-the only one we didn't care for. But still service was fine, order at the bar, but it is delivered "hot from the kitchen"-why can't every food establishment understand that if it isn't hot it isn't right. Crab cakes are some of the best we have all had, and two of us are from the NW where seafood is plentiful. Stuffed days are amazing-though three to a plate makes sharing between either 2 or 4 a challenge. Poutine was very good though used baked potatoes in place of fries-in retrospect I'd go for fries-but I suspect they don't have a fryer. The Trip-TIp salad as well as the Caprese were both great-a nice spicy coffee rub on the Tri-Tip was really good and it was sliced very thin which is necessary for that cut of very tasty meat. The seafood soup was very nice as well-might have liked a piece of crusty break with it now that I think about it.

The only downside and it was a small issue, was that the waitress turned her nose up when I chose to order a lemonade. To her I say "get over yourself". All in all a highly recommended place that requires going up several sets of stairs which is common in Flagstaff.

Thank you for the generous praise of our food -- we always love to hear that people find it "exceptional"! Since we are a wine bar that serves food, and not a full-service restaurant, our kitchen staff do their best to put out excellent food without all the advantages of a full kitchen. We're extremely pleased that you enjoyed our take on poutine (yes, made without the benefit of a fryer!) along with the other small plates you shared, and that you understood that we have to get creative with our dishes from time to time. On the other hand, we're troubled that you found your service to be less than perfect. We strive to give each and every one of our patrons an exceptional experience as well as exceptional beverage and food, and are dismayed that we did not deliver on that. We hope that you'll come back and give us another chance to provide you with flawless service so that you find your total experience to be nothing less than exceptional.
