Medora ND is a tourist trap so what can you expect. Checkin staff most pleasant. Room clean and quiet. No hair dryer (found out later you have to go to the office) No microwave or fridge. Did I mention it is expensive compared to most any other town!

Room Tip: Adk to be located far from the highway - however they are always busy - accept what you can get duri...

This is an old-style drive up motel where you park outside your room. We stayed in the new section (rooms in the 400's). The rooms are clean, good size, but rather spartan. We had two double beds, woodgrain vinyl floors, and a desk in the room. The bathroom had a vanity and shower (no bath). Amenities include TV, single-cup coffeemaker, and free wi-fi. There's no microwave or fridge and you'll need to go to the front office to get a hairdryer. There's no breakfast included, but they have coffee and tea and a microwave in the front office. There's a train that runs nearby, but I think it's only during the day - we didn't hear it at night. Our first night was quiet. Our second night was a bit noisier - there was a crying baby on one side and a guy playing a ukelele and singing on his front porch on the other side. Fortunately he stopped around 9 pm. It's one of the more economical choices if you want to visit Theodore Roosevelt National Park. I'd recommend visiting the North Unit of TRNP, but it's a long drive from Medora and hotels up there are expensive.

Room Tip: Ask for one of the newer rooms.

Wow, just spent the weekend in Medora and stayed at the Badlands Hotel as we have for years . What a great remodel, not just new paint and bedding. The bathes were gutted and replaced with a very nice large shower and great new vanity and flooring. The room was large and tasteful with comfy beds and nice white bedding. Even the air/heat system was new. This was a badly needed remodel, well done!

Room Tip: They have been remodeled

urchased a golf and stay package and when we picked up the vouchers, were told that check in wouldn't be unitl 4;00 which seemed a little late but since we were golfing was OK. Got back to the motel at 4:30, waited in line while others checked in. Finally got to the counter and told, our room wasn't ready yet and to come back in a half hour. Went downtown and came back at 5:20. Again told, room wasn't available. Finally got a room at 6:15. No explanation, just my room wasn't ready.
Totally irritated. Understand that they are a resort town, but give me a break. Rooms themselves were good and roomy.

Room Tip: Probably want to get one of the end rooms but not sure if you'll have a choice.

The Badlands Motel is handy to everything in Medora. The room was reasonably large and the bed comfortable. Overall everything seemed clean. Prices were a bit higher than normal like everything else in Medora. The room would have been a whole lot nicer if a refrigerator were provided. WiFi was available but motel slow during peak hours. Ice is available but only at the office. Breakfast is not provided. Walls are a bit thin so hope your neighbors aren't overly loud.

My husband and I were passing by Medora on our way back to Manitoba from Moosejaw Sask where we met with friends. We decided to stop in and see if a Motel was available. We picked the Badlands Motel because of the central location. We were able to get a unit and were very happy with it. We wandered around the town and really enjoyed looking in all the shops. We decided to ask if we could stay another night because we decided to go horseback riding the next day. They were very accomodating. It was really scortching hot, so it was great to return to an air conditioned room and a cool shower in a clean bathroom after the trail ride. We had a pizza and $1.00 beer at a little pizza place. That was my first beer, it was cheaper than soda, so I decided to try it. We had alot of fun and plan to return again.

Our room was clean and a good size, but no refrigerator or hair dryer, which seem to be standard in most motels and hotels these days. Everything else in Medora was within walking distance and it just minutes from the National Park entrance and the Medora Musical. We got the room as part of the package with the show and dinner so it was an okay value for Medora.

Room Tip: Rooms on the end of the building near the road get a lot of railroad noise.
