The Southern Gate to the Theodore Roosevelt National Park is located minutes from downtown Medora. Upon entering the park, you will find the Visitor Center which provides good background to the park. A 35-mile drive in the park will allow you to see some fantastic topography and animals close up. Our drive was interrupted momentarily as buffalo crossed the road. Best part of visiting the park is the $10 per vehicle fee which is good for seven days, so you can stop by the Visitor Center one day; complete the 35-mile drive another day; and ride horses a third day. Staff in the park were courteous and helpful.
