Finally made it to this part of the waterfront. Took a walk and stopped in for lunch. Not just a hot dog and hamburger place like many other places.Had the Cajun haddock, corn on the cob, coleslaw and a side salad. All were delicious and the side salad was huge.Great view of the water from the outside porch (Even a great breeze on a hot Buffalo day). Will be back to try other seafood and enjoy the view Been to other places in Florida that had less of a view and double the prices

My wife and I went here for the fish. Big portions and decent sides, Problem was the fish was greasy where is over powered the plate and was everywhere, but that could be fixed allowing it to drain for a minute are so before serving. The service was fast so it was not like we were waiting a long time to get our food. The side like corn on the corn was great, sweet and juicy. I had the regular fires and the where crisp and tasty, and my wife had the sweet potatoes and the where spot on. Anyone who eats sweet potatoes fries knows it hard to find a place that cooks them right.
As for the atmosphere is was boring, for a place on the lake with a name like Dugs Dive, I thought it would be dressed up more, it was very plain with walls colors that reminded me of a living room and not a lakeside restaurant. But to each their own I guess.
They had other thing’s on the menu that looked good and a nice looking deck outside (too cold to sit there when we were there) but for us there just was not enough to try this place again with so many other place in Buffalo to go eat at!

One of our "go to" places for a casual meal is Dug's Dive at the small boat harbor. Food is ordinarily surprising decent, but the real attraction is sitting on the porch overlooking the water. This is our second trip this season. Our favorite item is the fried calamari...we usually order it with a salad, and it is plenty for a light meal. We had it recently, and although it would have benefited by a bit more time in the fryer, it was good as always.
Unfortunately our visit yesterday was not very satisfactory. We were seated promptly outdoors as requested. After sitting for a few minutes, the hostess explained they were busy and that the server would be with us shortly. No problem, although I thought it strange she didn't at least offer a drink. After another few minutes, the hostess apologized and said that our server would be with us in about five minutes. No big deal, we we're in any rush. We finally got up and went inside. It was cool and we felt we could get service there.
After a few minutes the very friendly server came, we promptly placed our orders. I had the potato cluster fish fry. The fish was mushy (it was the last time as well) but the crust is tasty. The sweet potato fries were good, the slaw was tasteless. Sauce was smeared on the fish, so it was soggy by the time I finished it. Nothing remarkable...All in all passable dish. Companion or ordered the seafood stew. Served lukewarm...sauce was way to tomato-ey, haddock was in schredded...One of the class not opened...was it undercooked or bad. They re cooked the claim and gave us a couple extra. Included corn on the cob was undercooked and served plain (no butter). Everything was underseasoned...The salt shaker was our friend.
chalk it up to a bad experience...I realize how hard it is to run a seasonal business...hopefully the kitchen will improve.
We'll be back for another try as the setting is amazing....we'll stick to the calamari

Excellent location? Well it is on the water but don't be fooled; you can see the docked boats, then there is a high break wall protecting the Small Boat Harbor, then there is a massive break wall separating the narrow Outer Harbor from Lake Erie. If a sailboat passes by on the lake, you may be able to see the top 4 feet of the mast. The view is better at The Hatch in Erie Basin. The food however is not. See below for how bad that is :-)
Food? Mediocre pub grub, served in a plastic tray lined with wax paper. Fish fry is way overpriced at $14.
Not sure what grip Tucker Curtin has on the Buffalo media but his restaurants are not worth the hype. Hoping things improve as NFTA has now turned the land over to Canal Development Agency

Came here for dinner and had the brushetta chicken sandwich which was good but served slopy. Overall the atmosphere is dated, service was poor and food is overpriced for the quality. Great view tho.
