“This is a Do Not Miss Visit When in Buffalo!!”

Erie Basin Marina Gardens
Ranked #40 of 159 things to do in Buffalo
Attraction details
Reviewed 27 July 2012

Each trip to Buffalo, you must make the short drive down to the new and updated Waterfront.

Near the large ships you must stop by the last remaining lock of the Eire Canal. All the other Buffalo locks have been buried in the construction of the I 90 New York Thruway.

The big ships are interesting but the prize viewing are the gardens around the Marina and overlooking the Lake!!

What a gorgeous way to spend a sunny summer afternoon. walk through the gardens, along the harbour and watch the boats go in and out. Bring your lawn chair and a good book and enjoy the day

Loved all of the experimental plants and blooms. Many flowers are planted in these test gardens that have never been seen before. All labeled so you know what to look for if you see something you like.

We visit the Gardens at least once each summer, along with a walk along the waterfront and a hike up to the top of the lighthouse.
The variety in the gardens is amazing for its size, and it's very relaxing to just sit on a nearby bench, take in the gardens, people watch and wave to the boats as they pass.

Right in our very own back yard. Seeds imported from Europe and from the US. One of few test gardens on the east coast. Dedicated garden staff with over 30 years of dedication and experience. New varieties each season with a spash of modern flare. Enjoy these lush gardens right from the planting stages in early May to lush growth by July through August. Seasonal additions continuously added throughout the season until October. Garden tours and events available. Check out the Erie Basin Marina website for more details. Don't miss the sights and smells of EBM Gardens. You will not be disappointed, it's worth the viewing.
