Great hotel located in walking distance to many restaurants and bars. The hotel has a very nice pool, which was clean, and a great temperature. They also provided towels right at the pool. The hotel room itself was large and very comfortable. The hot breakfast was decent, but the space was pretty small for the amount of hotel guests gathering there. Overall, it was a good experience and I would definitely stay there again!!

We were in town for a wedding. This hotel was convenient to all wedding events. Very quiet, and we had a great room.

We stayed at the Hampton Inn Downtown Buffalo August 10-14 (Sun-Thurs). I booked our stay because of the positive online feedback and the fact that we were basically trying to take a Niagara Falls vacation and the quality hotels in Niagara Falls Canada were $300 to $500 a night. This was $180 (AAA price including taxes).

The good:
We had a larger than normal sized room. This was great for our 1 year old son to run around in. Usually, hotel/motel rooms are kind of cramped for toddler running and jumping, in our experience.

We were given upon request a large play-pen/crib for our son to play/sleep in and he was quite comfortable.

On the first floor there is an indoor pool and hot tub spa that is virtually never used by most guests (as far as we could see). We pretty much had the place to ourselves everytime we used it.

The hotel has as inside backdoor access to 4 restaurants from the hotel's first floor and the Mexican and Chocolate Bar restaurants we tried during our stay were exceptional.

The breakfasts, although similar to other Hampton Inns we've stayed in, seemed a little hotter and fresher. The breakfast area was never overcrowded.

The computer room and laundry room were far superior to what I've encountered in other Hampton Inns. This place was a cut above for Hampton Inn.

Being we stayed Sunday through Thursday there was no Chippewa noise (our room faced Chippewa). The clubs were all closed during the week.

The bad:
I booked the room 10 months in advance on one credit card and upon check-in switched cards. Well so I thought. The clerk at the desk failed to switch although he was quite vigorous in his insistance on a photo ID from my wife. Get you priorities straight my man. Caused a bit of confusion and ire.

On the third night of our four night stay my son dropped a Zwieback toast on the floor and by morning it was covered in ants. I mean it happens in the cleanest of houses but still a little off-putting.

Last thing was - and it didn't happen to us - A LOT of break-ins in the free parking lot. The front desk warns you upon check in to remove your GPS system and I'm glad we don't have one. Two guests had their passenger window smashed during our stay. (This would be a negative review if this had happened to us).

All in all though, a great stay - Although orinially not planned as a "Buffalo" trip - got to check out REAL bufflo wings and try the local gastronomic fav "Beef on Weck" (look it up). Extremely easy access to Niagara Falls from the hotel (30 mins tops!) made this the perfect quality hotel for the budget minded wanting to vacation near the falls. I would recommend.

This hotel is much bigger than I'd expected, and it was clear in the morning that it couldn't handle the breakfast crowds. The dining room was packed to the walls, and the servers couldn't keep eggs coming fast enough, leading to a long line snaking out the door. There was also nowhere to sit to eat, so people were eating in the business center, in the hallways, and in the fitness center. Yikes!

We ordered the "romance package" for our stay, mostly because it included free champagne and was the same price as the rest of the packages, but it wasn't ready for us when we arrived. (After 4 p.m., which seems like plenty of time.) Weren't we surprised to walk into our room only to find a GIANT hot tub in the living room! (That's in addition to the bathtub in the bathroom.) It was just sitting there, next to the TV and desk, and was both hilarious and weird. I guess some people dig that, and the clerk said there are about 30 rooms like that, so if that's not your thing, ask!

Otherwise, our stay was uneventful, and the hotel is in a great location, with everything pretty much in walking distance. The clubs are right next door, though, so the crowd is somewhat younger.

M and I stayed at the hotel on Friday and Saturday night. The 4th-floor room was large, comfortable, and very clean. The king bed was great, and firm enough that my (sensitive) back was not sore in the morning. Complimentary breakfast was good, and the pool area was clean. Papaya's Restaurant had a good menu with reasonable prices, and was well-rated by AAA, but we didn't get a chance to try it. We did check out the Chocolate Bar, and most of the cakes in their display case looked quite unappealing. On Saturday night, we did order the Molten Lava cake (a Chocolate Bar speciality, "a delicious cake with a warm gooey center") for room service delivery. It was delivered cold (we discovered this only after the delivery person left) and when we phoned about it, we were told to microwave the cake for about 30 seconds. I went down to use the microwave in the hotel's main lobby, and the result was not great (not much molten center in the cake). After paying $14 for the cake through room service, we didn't expect to have to microwave it!

The only other drawback at the hotel were loud noises from Chippewa Street nightclubs on both Friday and Saturday nights (our room was on the Chippewa Street side). I had to use earplugs to get to sleep on both nights.

We were going to see a concert in Buffalo, and we found out about the Hampton Inn online. We had 3 adults and 2 teenage girls going. It was near the HSBC arena and not a long way from the galleria mall. The pool was really nice and there was almost nobody there so we had the pool to ourselves. There was also a very nice hot tub with all the jets and such. Another nice attribute to the hotel was the excersize room, which opened very early. In that room, there was a TV with free cable and many nice machines. The only bad thing was that our room was near Chippewa street, which gets really loud at night.

We also found out that Avril Lavigne, whose concert we were going to, was staying at the hotel. It must be pretty nice if a star would want to stay there.

I would reccomend this hotel to people who are staying in Buffalo to see a concert or just want to have a relaxing trip.

As a faithful hilton honors points member, I have seen quite a few Hampton Inns. This was one of the better Hampton Inns I have stayed in, and would definitely recommend it to others.

The beds were not as comfortable as most Hampton Inns, but they were just fine. The staff was friendly, the breakfast was good, and the location here is hard to beat in downtown (especially if you're here for business). There is a nice pool area and you are within walking distance of several restaurants.

Other than the carpet needing a little updating, this was a very nice hotel and I will, without a doubt, stay here again.
