We stayed the Canadian long weekend at the Hotel Lafayette in a two bedroom suite comfortable to fit the needs of my family of 6.

Spacious enough with two full bathrooms, a full kitchen and two private queen sized bedrooms.

We loved the unique look of the hotel and the rooms. We were told it was originally built in 1904 and recently underwent renovations.

Great service from the valet parkers and the from desk staff all whom were extremely helpful when we needed their services.

My only negative feedback is that our room was not hooked up with hot water. On two separate occasions we called the front desk to inquire about why the hot water wasn't working. Both times, maintenance staff were sent to investigate, however there seemed to be no solution to the problem.
We were provided with another suite to use down the hall from where our room was located.

For the inconvenience, we were not charged for the overnight use of the other suite, or valet parking.

Clean, comfortable, and conveniently located in downtown Buffalo, I would totally stay once again and would recommend this hotel to my family and friends, despite our minor inconvenience.

I was pleasantly surprised with this hotel. The junior suite was awesome. Fireplace, living space, desk, bedroom, glass walled shower and two TV's. I was literally in awe with how nice this hotel was and spacious. The building itself is very cool. It's old, and you could literally get lost in all the different staircases and hallways. The bed was comfortable, room was clean. It is in a great location but also has plenty of options for food and drinks within the hotel. I would recommend this hotel to anyone going to Buffalo.

Room Tip: The junior suite is worth the money.

We stayed overnight to attend musical @ Shea's. Worked perfectly: love the historic property. Absolutely love the ambience. Bars & Mike A restaurant are super good. We had a junior suite which was modern, large, beautiful appointed complete with faux fireplace.

The only negative: stinky continental breakfast served in a dark corner, cramped below big screen in a closed bar. THEY MUST MOVE THIS TO THE ORIGINAL RECEPTION DESK. WOULD BE 100% NICER.

3rd time at the gorgeously restored Hotel @ The Lafayette and had a wonderful time. Each experience has been great and this time was no exception. Room was smaller than before but fine for one night and still beautiful and unique. All staff - front desk, valet, bellman, housekeeping staff - were friendly, accommodating and nice. We chose the Lafayette because it is close to our event and because it is not a cookie-cutter hotel. Bed was a little too soft for my taste, but husband thought it was perfect. Couldn't find the continental breakfast, but it may have been too late when we got to the lobby 10ish. Love the place and will be back.

We have stayed here several times now and love the Lafayette! Staff is great and the rooms and the beds are perfect! It is too bad that on a Friday night there is no food or bar open in the hotel. It just becomes a ghost town. If you are looking for things to do do not stay here. If you want to relax it is a great place. The bathrooms could use more light ....very difficult to put makeup on in the dark. But other than that we love the history and ambience!
