La Farge Perry House
Ranked #10 of 95 Newport B&B and Inns
Certificate of Excellence
Reviewed 26 October 2013

Stayed here for a long weekend with my fiancé Spring 2013. It's definitely one of the nicer inns in Newport - very beautiful, charming, clean, and just overall high quality. This inn does not cut corners in anything and you get the 5 star treatment. It's more "luxurious" and perfect for a romantic stay. Jen the innkeeper was great - so nice and friendly! She makes delicious made to order breakfast and you get a true inn experience. Absolutely no negatives about this place.

We stayed in the Matthew Perry room and found it really great. It has a small little sitting room right when you walk in and very charming ceilings (its on the 3rd floor - walk up). The bathroom was awesome - big window with lots of sun.

The inn is walking distance to the harbor area and Thames St - great location.

Highly recommended!!! We will definitely be back. (Of the ten or so Newport inns we've stayed in, it's definitely one of our favorites!)

Room Tip: We stayed in the Matthew Perry - lots of sun light!

La Farge Perry is a beautiful B&B. We stayed in the master suite and it was truly a luxurious stay with a big Jacuzzi tub. Marise was gracious and a wealth of information on what to do in Newport. The food was amazing and it felt like I was just at home. l would highly recommend it to everyone. We can't wait to come back.

The La Farge is an old house, filled with character and antiques together with high standards of service, comfort and care. We had one of the smaller rooms, but still plenty big enough and the bath was huge. This is a high end inn and has all of the extras that you would expect, but without the formailty. Marise was really helpful and showed us the other rooms which were amazing. We had a good breakfast and could easily have stayed a few more days

Room Tip: If you can afford one of the bigger rooms they are amazing

We had a wonderful two nights stay in the John La Farge room. The house is an historic house but we were made to feel like we were staying in a home, and Marise was a great host who gave us advice as to where we could go around Newport, and also cooked a great breakfast each morning. I can recommend the La Farge Perry House as a place to stay in Newport. Thanks Marise for making us feel at home, Greg and Helen, Sydney, Australia

Perfect in every way. We were welcomed by Marise who, as well as being friendly and accomodating, is a fountain of knowledge. In fact Marise is a good reason to stay here, she makes delicious breakfasts, bakes cookies and is just lovely to talk to. We stayed in the Matthew Perry room complete with three large windows, a view of the sea and gardens. Comfy bed, jacuzzi bath and it was quiet, as it is tucked away at the top of the house. Peeked into other rooms, they are all the same high standard. It is also conveniently located, close to everything yet in a quiet area. We easily explored Newport and the mansions on foot. For a treat eat at Castle Hill ( recommendation by Marise) Bottom line : heaven! Dont miss the opportunity to stay here! We'll be back.

We went to Newport two week ago and we lodged in this luxury inn. Every detail in this historic house contributes to create a fantastic atmosphere. Our room was The Master Suite elegantly furnished.
The bathroom was huge and extremely refined, we had never seen a fireplace in a bathroom ! Marisa, the innkeeper, is very kind and willing to give us useful information. Thanks Marisa the most "simpatica" lady in New England and see you in Rome!

We stayed at the Matthew Perry for 2 nights and loved it. the house itself was pretty nice and in a very got shape and cozy. Our room was spacious and had a great view. Marise took care of us and gave us a lot of recommendations. The breakfast was great and all the public rooms where beautiful. Everything is walkable and there is also the possiblity to drive at The Chandler to do the cliff walk.
