We ate at Jo's Bistro on Sunday, Nov. 27th. The fish and chips were great! The peach bread pudding made the meal exceptional. Our waiter, Vinny, was wonderful and we enjoyed talking with him. It felt like we had dropped by to see friends and have dinner!
We ate here last night (December Friday) after driving in. The food was delicious and beautifully presented. We thought the prices were reasonable. The service was excellent too! We loved the cod (light and delicious) and the fish and chips. The calamari appetizer was awesome and perfect for sharing. Small but good selection of Port and Cognac.
They had live music on the first floor but we choose to go upstairs because it was cooler and we wanted to be able to talk. We will certainly come back on our next visit!
We act here on a Sunday evening, we were looking for something quick and simple after a day's walking. The prix fixe menu, at $21 for two courses and a glass of wine, seemed fine. We had the clam chowder, ceaser salad and the prawn pasta. Not a bargain given the food quality and skill of cooking. Nothing extraordinary.
I usually don't write reviews but ate at Jo's American Bistro last week. In fact, it was so good that I returned 3 times during the restaurant week 3 course dinner event and had 3 out of 4 of their offerings. One was better than the next! The Steak Diane was huge and cooked to perfection. It had a shallot mushroom demi-glace sauce that was spectacular as was the dauphinoise potatoes. I returned a couple nights later to try the Lobster Carbonara that did not disappoint. The third trip I tried their special restaurant week duck pizza while being serenaded by Alan Bernstein on bass and vocals. I thought I was in a quaint bistro in New Orleans. What a delight.
