Newport's architectual variety is amazing. This area contains many original Colonials -now restored..Make sure you go through the Hunter House & walk down to Battery Park esp at sunset.

This is a beautiful section of Newport with a lot of colonial houses that are gorgeous. It is a great place to take a walk and view the Newport Harbor with all the boats. You can stop at two beautiful parks (Storer Park and Battery Park) on Washington Street and go into Newport Shipyard and look at all the magnificent yachts or get a bite to eat at Belle's Restaurant. The streets running North to South (First, Second, Third and Washington Streets) and the ones running East to West are named after trees of which the point section has many beautiful trees. Go from Washington Street and on to Long Warf at the State Fishing Pier and view the ida Lewis yacht club and the inner Newport Harbor and then end at the Long Warf Mall.
