Will & his staff were awesome! Breakfast and tea daily, was delightful; carefully, homemade and delicious. The garden area is a bonus for outside gathering & dining. The rooms were beautiful and the location could not have been more perfect! We would definitely return...

This was a fantastic find on Hotel Tonight and turned out to be one of my favorite stays ever. The original house, addition and the separate Benjamin Mason House are all beautifully maintained by a superb staff. We were welcomed by Janet and Suzanne upon our check-in and given a tour and plenty of advice and suggestions. The small but well-appointed gardenside room #8 the first night was very comfortable and we loved the Stillhouse Suite in the Mason House the second night. The courtyard at the main Malbone House was unexpected and such a beautiful and tranquil setting for breakfast and an afternoon respite.

The delicious and plentiful breakfast was served by the super-friendly and fun Sue--thank you Sue! Will and AnneMaria introduced themselves and immediately extended their hospitality as well. In addition, the afternoon tea was a huge spread of sweet and savory treats and I felt transported to a European villa as I sat in the courtyard with its blooming flowers and singing birds, enjoying my wine from the honor bar and fresh treats from the dining room.

The free parking was so handy right in downtown where we could walk to everything--but beyond the beautiful and immaculate accommodations and the delicious food, what made the Francis Malbone House truly memorable were the people. Everyone was so friendly, engaging and incredibly helpful. We will definitely be back and look forward to seeing everyone again and in the cooler month and take advantage of the fireplace. Many kudos to Janet, Suzanne, Sue, Will, AnneMaria, Elizabeth and the rest of the team!

P.S. Thank you for mailing back my favorite white sweater I forgot in my room!

My wife and I were going to Newport for a family wedding at the beginning of August and decided to make a long weekend out of it. After doing a lot of research online prior to selecting where we would stay in Newport, we decided on the Francis Malbone House Inn. Our research paid off, this Inn did not disappoint! The Inn is located in a great area close to everything downtown and provides off-street parking. There are so many stores, restaurants, bars and outdoor activities close by. We reserved the Courtyard Room #4. It was a very nice room that was decorated beautifully and opened up out to a small courtyard shared with the room next door. The king size poster bed was very comfortable and provided a great night's sleep. The bathroom was a good size and included a wonderful double jacuzzi bath with shower, Will, AnneMaria, and the entire staff could not have been more friendly, accommodating, helpful, and informative during our stay. The service was outstanding from the time we checked in until the time we checked out. We were regularly asked how everything was and if we needed anything - including recommendations on restaurants, sightseeing or other fun and/or relaxing options Newport had to offer. We were never steered wrong by the staff. Right up there with the great staff was the great food! We were truly amazed by the selection of food and snacks that was provided at the Inn each day. The afternoon tea from 3-6pm was outstanding - a table full of various and truly delicious treats prepared homemade each day by the staff, along with several drink choices. But by far, the best part of the day was breakfast! Starting at 8:30am each day you were welcomed to a buffet of awesome food, including delectable croissants, different homemade muffins and breads, fresh fruit and fruit parfaits, granola, and wonderful warm fruit crisps - you could easily fill up on all those selections alone...but don't because you also get to order a freshly cooked hot breakfast meal. The choices varied from delicious french toast stuffed with cream cheese and fruit, pancakes, omelets and other very unique creations. There was one dish that had that was french toast, herbs, hollandaise sauce, sour cream, bacon and an arugula salad that I would probably never have ordered at a restaurant, but was so glad I tried it, amazingly good! We have been to many B&Bs throughout the years and the Francis Malbone House Inn is right up there with our favorites. It was truly an amazing and memorable experience! We will most definitely be back...but for a longer stay.

We stayed in the Harborside (blue) room, bright and spacious, on the 2nd floor/SE corner. We slept comfortably w/ down pillows and pillow-top king size bed. No problems w/ water pressure/temp.

Breakfasts in the garden courtyard was so beautiful and tranquil with a gorgeous pink crepe myrtle and tiny birds playing in the fountain. The menu will delight any foodie. AnnMaria - your scones are the best I ever had! The Edible Fare described on the website was perfect since the location makes it convenient.

Innkeepers AnnMaria, Janet & Will are such pleasurable people. Will is the man for restaurant rec's and info - you won't need to research on CH/Tripadvisor. Janet is very accommodating and pleasant - funny and young-hearted.

What a enjoyable experience to spend our 7th anniversary. The Malbone definitely made one our top seaside getaways in the Northeast...this is definitely a gem.

Thank you so much for your hospitality!

Will and his staff know their job and do it extremely well. There are more expensive choices and better views, but nothing is better than the ambiance and gracious hospitality of this wonderful home away from home.Breakfast and afternoon snacks are excellent.

Room Tip: Back rooms are quieter and Garden rooms are quaint and larger.

We had a very peaceful visit. The food was outstanding and plentiful. The staff were all very helpful. This is our second visit and we're already looking forward to the next. We enjoyed drinking coffee and sitting in the garden.

Room Tip: Parking is tricky so make sure you know what you're supposed to do before you go.
