“great dessert option!”
Reviewed 17 July 2013

I went here twice during a week's visit to Newport and enjoyed the gelato each time! I sampled several flavors, so I don't remember which I ended up buying! I tend to buy from the chocolate line of flavors. The workers are friendly young folks who seem to enjoy what they do. I've been to Italy twice and have eaten lots of gelato there. This stuff was just as enjoyable to me!

“Great Place for a Cool Treat”
Reviewed 6 July 2013

This place is just plain delicious. We had the mint chip and it was the kind of mint that keeps your mouth cool and fresh long after you've tossed the bowl and spoon. They offer traditional gelato flavors as well as some interesting options. It was so good, can't wait to go back.

“A little Italy on the Thames”
Reviewed 29 June 2013

Located next to the Armory Antique Mall, this gelato shop is a "must-stop" on Thames Street in downtown Newport. Giada was here, and so was I, therefore you know this gelato is the real deal. I had a triple with Chocolate Sorbet, Madagascar Vanilla, and a flavor simply called "Chocolate Vanilla". Try the Cinnamon Basil Marscapone; you know that's going to taste as good as it sounds.
This gelato shop is better than any you might have tried on Hanover Street in Boston's North End. Portions are plentiful and napkins are numerous. Flavors change daily, so plan on going here every day during your stay.

“the best!”
Reviewed 3 November 2012

This is gelato, not ice cream, so if you're expecting Ben and Jerry's you might be disappointed. That said... this place is amazing. It's all handmade, artisanal stuff. They have standard gelati and sorbets, but so much more. And flavors change often. They usually have at least 4 different chocolates. There's once case that's mostly light/fruit flavors, with the usual strawberry, raspberry, etc - but they also have more 'exotic' flavors like rosemary-watermelon and lavender. Then the other case is the chocolate/creamy/candy flavors, like salted caramel chocolate chunk. And perhaps best of all- you can get 2+ flavors in one dish, which is good because it's too hard to choose just one!

Also know that's it's very dense, and you probably won't need as much as you think!
