“Very good visit - well organised”
Reviewed 6 August 2014

Experience some history and pay your respects. And I'm not an american, but its worth remembering history, so as not to repeat it.

I recommend you visit the 2 museums that give you the lead up and background to the events, prior to the visit across to the Arizona.

Plenty of ways to get to Pear Habor, either public buses, or the easy way - on a tour. I took a tour, the public bus from Waikiki takes quite some time - do some research and make your choice.

“Worth It”
Reviewed 6 August 2014

My main reason of wanting to visit Oahu was to go to Pearl Harbor and see the Arizona.
It did not disappoint - it is a great way to experience an important part of US history

Because there are only a limited number of tickets for each day, make sure you book your tickets a head of time. You also won't be able to bring bags or purses - a small clutch was ok.

“Moving Experience”
Reviewed 6 August 2014

I visited the Arizona twice during my time in Oahu, once with my daughter and once with my travel partner.

It's a good idea to use recreation.gov and reserve in advance a time to go to the Memorial. If you just drive out to the Memorial, you may end up waiting a long time to secure a ticket on the boat that takes you out to the Arizona.

The museum at the site is an excellent overview of events leading up to December 7 and of the attack itself. When you get out to the Arizona, you are allowed about fifteen to twenty minutes on the Memorial. It is a moving and emotional experience.

If you have the time, the Pacific Air War Museum has a fine collection of planes to view. The tour of the U.S.S. Missouri is also excellent, and you can also go through a World War II U.S. submarine. My daughter (age 27) and I (age 58) did it all and that required an entire day. It was a day well spent.

Went with a tour group; an excellent way to visit and see this historic site. Video shown in amphitheater and several artifacts available for viewing in the museums. Expect lots of people.
