We all know that the International Marketplace is being demolished & yes this hotel is next to it...BUT...we had NO issue with noise from the site. We were in room 407 and it faced the old marketplace. The work didn't commence until after 7.30am and bu that time we were out of our room & down to Jimmey Buffets for breakfast & then out for the day. The room was large enough for 3 of us, were cleaned exceptionally well each day & bed & pillows were the best. We had a coffee making machine in the room and the coffee was replaced daily when used. The staff were super friendly, & the hotel in general is extremely good value. If I had to find something wrong with it then it would be that the pool which was adequate in size, shrunk in size when kids brought their inflatable mats & ring into the pool. Maybe inflatables could be discouraged. But then again, we all on holidays.........and in paradise. Have another margarita & enjoy.

We stayed here for 1 night before moving to another hotel for 2 weeks, and i must say we were pleasantly surprised! We booked this hotel as the location looked good, and we got a great rate!
Upon check in, our room was ready early which was great, we got up to our room which was extremely large, with a private balcony overlooking the whole of Waikiki Beach! It was stunning, for the price we paid i had low expectations but this hotel was wonderful.

The pool is so nice and relaxing and with Jimmy Buffet's right there it was heaven having a cocktail while laying in the sun.

Yes there is construction going on next door to the hotel, but this is nothing to do with the hotel? The noise is minimal, and hey, you're in Hawaii! So look at the beach rather than the construction site.

The hotel is clean, modern, well equipped and the staff are friendly and very helpful. We had a meal at the restaurant several times which was delicious, well priced and always good! We stumbled across this hotel by chance, but will definitely stay here again, and for longer next time!

Room Tip: Ocean front room is wonderful!

We arrived at the hotel after our Australian flight and were lucky to have our room ready at 12 instead of 3 pm. This was a pleasant surprise. Our room on the 18th floor was a good size and although we had booked and paid for an Oceanview this room could only be classed as partial ocean view at best. The construction on the international marketplace site meant our lanai doors could not be left open during the day nor could you sit and enjoy the view that was there. Housekeeping left a lot to be desired, we were greeted with paper cups and plastic glasses. Fortunately the front desk were able to supply crockery cups and glasses as well as an electric jug when asked. The supply of tea, coffee and toiletries were hit and miss and we had to phone housekeeping on many occasions to ask for basic supplies. Cups were seldom washed out or rinsed when the room was made up. The front of house staff varied greatly from friendly and efficient to can't be bothered to deal with you today. This was our 8 th visit to Waikiki having always stayed at the now demolished Miramar. It was one block back and less expensive. The views and service far surpassed the Beachcomber.

Room Tip: Ask for high room away from lift well. The rooms backing onto the lifts are extremely noisy.

Mahalo for taking the time to review us on Trip Advisor, G-Day and thank you for staying with us and coming back to Waikiki for the 8th time. We sincerely apologize for not providing the consistent Aloha service the Beachcomber Resort is known for. Please contact us immediately so we can make this right. The revitalization of the International Market Place will be a great addition to Waikiki as it will be anchored by Saks Fifth Avenue and other designer stores. We are equipped to provide tea service to all our Australian and tea lover guests at any time (in the future please contact us in advance so we may have that set up before your arrival to the hotel). We look forward to you returning for the 9th time to Waikiki and we hope you will give us another opportunity to serve you. We anticipate hearing from you soon and again, Mahalo for giving us your feedback. Aloha-no!

Our travel agent hit the jackpot when she booked us in here. What a great location and the staff lived up to Hawaii's reputation for friendliness. We would especially like to thank our lovely room maid who looked after the 3rd floor. Waikiki beach is only a 3 minute walk and we actually had ocean views from our hotel. Jimmy Buffets Beachcomber restaurant and bar serves wicked margaritas and the pool area was great. One drawback was the buffet breakfast. Although the food was reasonable the staff allow the wild sparrows and doves to fly and land on and near the servery which we found to be extremely unhygienic. This is not really a problem as good, reasonably cheap breakfasts can be found outside the hotel. A restaurant I recommend is The Cheesecake Factory directly across the road. This restaurant has over 400 tables and after 6pm there is up to a 40 minute wait to be seated. We went there at 5:30 and were seated within 5 minutes. The food and service is exquisite, especially their cheesecakes. When we come back to Waikiki we will definitely be staying here again. If you want a great private tour of the island ring ABC Limousines and ask for Hung to drive you. He is polite, knowledgeable, witty and charming. An organised bus tour was $80pp. ABC was $340 for an 8 seater stretch limo. This included soft drinks and the tour lasted 7 hours.

Aloha and Mahalo for the great review. It is fantastic to learn that we were able to meet all of your expectations here at the Beachcomber. While it sounds like you were really able to enjoy your stay with us, I want to sincerely apologize for any inconveniences you may have encountered with the Jimmy Buffets breakfast. We truly look forward to making improvements to the dining areas in the restaurant. Again, sincere Mahalo for the awesome review and we hope you come back to the Holiday Inn Waikiki Beachcomber soon.

The rooms are spacious, very clean and the amenities are good. It is in a good location, the pool bar is very good, the food there is very good for a pool bar. The restaurant for Breakfast however is not that great, $16 USD with tax plus your tip for fried rice, powdered scrambled eggs and some sort of fat sliced salami sausage, and the service was not that happy at breakfast. That was the only downside though.
The service everywhere else in the hotel is very good, watch out for the time share scouters downstairs thought posing as tour guide service, we made that mistake and it is painful when your on holidays from half way around the world and your trying to get out of a hard sale to buy timeshare, we did not go to their 90 minute conference for the offer of free tour tickets as we are up to speed on it, but a lot of people were complaining to us about how they were "sucked in" just remember, there is no such thing a free lunch and you will be fine :-)
Close to the beach, close to lots of good restaurants, would definitely stay at this hotel again, it is a little pricey for a holiday inn, but if you can get a good deal you will not be disappointed in the location, style, comfort and service.

Room Tip: Try to get a front facing room as the side room views are only a partial ocean view and you have to...

My daughter booked us this trip as a surprise for my husband and I and we could nto have been happier with her choice. The hotel was central to everything and staff could not do enough for you. The room was cleaned every day on our return. Would go back there in a heartbeat. The only one thing I didnt like was the 3 oclock check in which was annoying when we arrived at 9am in the morning, though I hear that's a fairly normal check in time in Hawaii. Just loved it :)
