we stayed at the outrigger from 6/15 till 6/24 and it was perfect! we had an oceanview room on floor 11 (wasn't expecting that!) from our balcony we could see the main street in from of the hotel and the ocean...awesome. Other than some longer waits for the elevators the construction was not an issue. The staff was friendly and even let us use the "hospitality room" since our flight was late in the day after check out which let us shower and freshen up before leaving. Dukes was great, breakfast buffet was well worth the $ and when e ate other places our kids said "shoulda gone to dukes" and most places we went were about the same price. Everything is right there and the activity in front of the hotel is very cool. my girls took surf lessons right in front of the hotel and their guy "josh" was great with them, up on the waves in no time! We've been to disney a bunch of times, cruises, florida...etc and my kids are hooked on hawaii. We'll be back at the outrigger! (hopefully sooner than later)

Room Tip: room 1106 was super cool!

Our group of 8 stayed at the Outrigger in June and had a fantastic time. Despite renovations on the hotel and the pool being out for revamp we thoroughly enjoyed the facilities and the beach.
Dukes and the Hula Grill provided good meals and areas to enjoy a drink. Dukes is crowded in the afternoons and the band is noisey but is a great venue for pre dinner drinks. Hula grill is quieter in the afternoon and the hawaian band and dancer provide in the evenings is worth the wait.
Desk staff were pleasant and helpful as were the bellboys.
Proxsimity to shopping and other hotels is a plus.

Aloha Terry N, we are glad that your group had a great time while staying with us at the Outrigger Waikiki. Dukes and Hula Grill are great at accommodating their customers. After a satisfying meal at Dukes or Hula Grill, it’s nice to be able to conveniently walk to the shops located in Waikiki. Please visit us again soon. Mahalo.

We just returned from an 10 day stay at the Outrigger and had a great time. We had an ocean front view on 12 that had a fantastic view overlooking the ocean and Waikiki beach. The hotel had some construction going on but there were minimal disruptions due to this. The notable one was about a 5 minute wait for an elevator on 1 of the day 10 days due to elevator service being performed. The location of the hotel is perfect as we were close to everything in the area. We did rent a car to navigate the island and used the valet service. At $30 a day I ended up spending more for valet service than for the rental car but I knew that going in. The hotel staff was very friendly and accommodating. The one annoying thing for me was being solicited to sign up for some travel deal every time my family walked through the lower lobby. Overall we enjoyed our stay here and would look to stay here again if we visit the area again.

We have just returned after 6 night stay here.
We stayed in an ocean front room on 12 floor the view was fantastic. We had a newly renovated room with plenty of space and a comfortable bed.
Ther were renovations taking place but we knew this before we arrived and we got a good price because of it, the noise was a minor problem and only noticed realy one mornig but were going out for the day so no problem.
Would stay here again if we can afford the price once renovation complete.

Room Tip: we had deluxe oceanfront and it was just that...front of the ocean!

Just finished another wonderful stay at the Outrigger Waikiki. This time we were celebrating a BIG anniversary and upgraded to a beachfront suite. 11th floor with great views of both ocean and Diamond Head. It was a renovated room and heard no noise at all from adjoining rooms or hallway. Elevations seemed much faster than our previous visits with little or no waits even with construction going on. Can't beat this hotel (and we've stayed at several other Waikiki hotels over the years) for either location or value. Staff is great and we always feel at home here.

Aloha tommac180, congratulations on your anniversary! We are very excited about our renovated rooms. As one of the improvements to our rooms, we have created better insulation between walls; therefore, reducing the noise levels between rooms. Our oceanfront suites have stunning views of Diamond Head and the vast beach steps away from the hotel. We hoped that you have carried home many memorable experiences while staying with us on your anniversary. Warm regards from the staff at the Outrigger Waikiki.

We stayed for one night in March as we had an early flight the following day. The hotel was (and still is by the sound of some recent reviews) undergoing renovation works and it definitely needed it. While the room was a fair size it was very dated, and the bathroom was small with a teeny shower! The room did have a (very!) small balcony with a view of a sliver of Waikiki beach.
The pool was undergoing renovation so was closed and much of the hotel looked a bit like a construction site, but the room was relatively cheap (c. £100) compared with other Waikiki beachfront hotels and as we were there only to sleep it did the job. The hotel also only has valet parking, no cheaper self parking.
Would I stay there again? Not sure - i'd need to see the renovated rooms before deciding. If you're looking for a beachfront hotel and don't mind the high rise style and the very noisy and busy bar on the beach then this place is ideal. If you look for that bit extra then maybe give it a skip.

Aloha squirrel2203, our completed renovation will transform the image of our guestrooms and pool areas. Upgraded furnishings and fixtures will be added to our guestrooms along with a new swimming pool with a larger deck area for those who are sunbathing. We welcome you as a guest in the near future to experience our guestroom and pool area transformation.
