My family and I have just returned from a trip to Waikiki and I'm so glad our travel agent recommended Outrigger Waikiki on the beach. The location is absolutely perfect! We felt we were at the most beautiful part of the beach, close to all the great restaurants and shops and directly across the road from the international markets which our 5 & 8 year old children loved! All the staff we dealt with we're polite and helpful, including those in the shops downstairs. The coffee was nice at the coffee shop right at the entrance and the food and drinks at Dukes was fantastic. The only down side of our trip was the fact we had to leave! But we'll be back and hopefully sooner rather than later.

My husband & I have just returned from a 10 day stay at Outrigger Waikiki on the Beach. We booked a beach front room and were rewarded with fantastic views of the beach. We were on the fifth floor which meant we enjoyed the holiday atmosphere from Dukes bar below. The staff were all very friendly and always willing to help. Highly recommend Outrigger Waikiki on the Beach. Looking forward to staying there again.

Room Tip: Beach front room was exactly what we wanted, being able to hear the ocean was a really great reminde...

I love the Outrigger on Waikiki Beach (be careful; there are several Outriggers).

This one is right on the best part of Waikiki Beach. Right across from the International Marketplace. Duke's Canoe Club is right in the hotel. Would always stay here when in Honolulu.

Room Tip: Be very clear about the view you're getting for the class of room you're booking.

It was quite difficult trying to choose a hotel just from the internet but thanks to everyone who posts reviews we ended up picking the Outrigger.

Just luxurious enough but quite laid back. Good service, great location, fun restaurants and right in the centre of the buzz of Waikiki.

It might sound strange but a highlight of the Outrigger on the beach is the bell hoo staff and the activities desk. Nothing was too much trouble for them.

Downside would be the beach is very shallow but you only have to walk along the beach and it widens.

Beware, loungers on the beach are $10 a day...no concessions for guests.

Staff were very accommodating with my daughter who doesn't go in elevators. We were allowed to use the stairs which weren't generally available to guests...but no one bothered us.

Great holiday

Our recent stay at this hotel was enjoyable, last year we stayed next door at Westin Moana surf rider which was more expensive. We had a corner room on the 15th floor facing the beach and sunset which was magnificent. We found this Outrigger much better bang for your buck, finding a lounge chair poolside or beachfront was not a problem, the on site DIY laundry facility excellent and a nice selection of food outlets. The hotel's position on the sand is fantastic, rooms were clean and very comfortable. The only little complaint, if I had to, is that when the room doors close they are a little noisy. Will definitely stay here again

Room Tip: Beach front rooms higher up have the best views in Waikiki

This is the second time we have stayed here.the first time we had a suite on the 5 the floor facing the Hawaian ,this time we requested a suite on a high floor facing towards Diamond Head,we were given a suite on the 12 the floor and it didn't disappoint .What a spectacular view, looking down on the crystal clear ocean was magic.
Not cheap but as they say you pay for what you get.
My only complaint was no bottled water after the first days accomodation,we payed top dollar we could at least gave fresh water to drink.
The hotel was built in the mid 60s and has that old character and charm that modern hotels just don't have
The staff were all very friendly and helpful, and with that view it was hard to leave our room
Would recommend this hotel to those who value old fashioned service and top quality

Room Tip: If you can afford it pay the extra for a Diamond Head facing suite as high as available, you won'...

Outrigger Waikiki on the Beach is located on a wonderful strip of Waikiki Beach. Just come down the elevator and step right out onto the sand. They have improved and widened the beach with new sand since my last visit, so there is now plenty of room for people to have a spot in the sand. The rooms have been remodeled and are lovely. The beds and pillows are new and very comfortable. I would suggest better lighting over the bathroom vanity as two little CFL bulbs hardly cut it. The new elevator system is wonderful. Swipe your room key and it will tell you which elevator to get on. It takes you right up without having to stop on every floor with bunches of other people. I would suggest for those who might want to spend time on the balcony (lanai) to request the Diamond Head side of the hotel. The rooms facing the Royal Hawaiian get a lot of noise from the Cheesecake Factory rooftop air conditioners. We had to keep our lanai door closed all of the time. Be sure to eat dinner at Dukes, but make a reservation from the mainland a few weeks before you go. Overall though, this is a wonderful hotel with very friendly staff.

Room Tip: Choose Diamond Head side and higher floor for a quieter experience

Aloha kjoy524. Thank you for choosing the Outrigger Waikiki on the Beach. We are happy that you noticed the improvements to Waikiki beach fronting our hotel. In 2012, 1,730 feet of Waikiki shoreline was returned to its lush vintage 1985 condition following a four-month long offshore sand-pumping project. Today, our guests can utilize more of the beach for sun-bathing and playing in the sand during their stay. Mahalo Nui Loa.
