Its close to the end of the beach thats not so crowed, thats a real plus, I agree with the other reviews that it is a little outdated, however its clean and quite large too. The renovations going on were a bit of a bother, otherwise all is good there.

We recently rented a privately-owned unit in Waikiki Banyan. The unit was exactly as described, clean, bright, spacious and in an ideal location. There was just one BIG PROBLEM. Renovations to the exterior of the building meant that the lanai door was sealed shut. There was no way to open it or get out onto the lanai. The small bedroom windows must also be closed to allow the work platforms to go up and down AND be prepared to have workmen staring in at you from a hanging platform when you open the curtains in the morning. The only way to keep the place cool is to crank up the air conditioning. If sitting in a sealed unit listening to AC and construction noise is how you want to spend your holiday, then this is the place for you! Notices in the elevator and in the unit indicate that the work outside these windows began on December 11, 2013 and will continue for "at least 2 months". So my advice to you is to check before you part with your money. Not all units are being renovated at any one time. To check on this, know the unit number and call ahead. The phone number of the condominium administration is (808) 922-7172 or email: info@waikikibanyan.org. I suggest you do not rely on the owner for this information. Our unit's owner did not tell us, and was very dismissive when we complained, suggesting that we go sit at a cafe somewhere instead, like it was no big deal that he advertised his condo as having a lanai, but actually you can't use it. Relaxing on the lanai is part of what I look forward to on Hawaiian holidays. Our condo was not a relaxing place to wake up in or return to after the day's activities. When I pressed the point I was offered a 5% refund - apparently this is what the Aston is offering. It's not worth it. Make sure you get a unit that is not sealed shut.

We enjoyed our stay here. It's definitely outdated but the rooms are clean and a decent size and comfortable. It's only two blocks from the beach and it's near shopping and restaurants. Our only real complaint was the slowness of the elevators. I would recommend staying here.

We tend to stay here when visiting family on the island. This was our second visit and first not be bad but not great either this visit was much better than the first. We did get a remodeled room which was better laid out than our previous room last year but they where doing construction outside on pool side that was irritating. The beds are still hard as rocks though. Checking in was fast and accurate and everything was great. I am happy with our stay but the only thing I did get irritated with is the hotel side needs to educate foreigners and not allow children with swim diapers in pool. Yes some foreigner let there kid poop on side of pool in in the pool which closed it down and no one was going to say anything until my kid witnessed it and I called it into the front desk. Then the pool closed. We turned them in and they tried to act ignorant about it. That was the only bad experience we had and how some people make homes out of the grills space. We had individuals take 6 grills and space for a family birthday and wouldn't give one up for our family and come to find out they were not even guest of anybody there. Apparently locals come and bring all there stuff to use the pool and grills a common thing but come on braaddah gave a family one grill.

I booked room 1714 in Tower 2 through CIMY. I loved it! Reservation, check-in, and check-out was easy and smooth. They allowed us to check in at 8:00am without extra charge. Check-in time is officially 3:00pm. The owner of CIMY provides her cell phone so it was easy to get a hold of her or staff when we had questions.

The condo must have been updated. It has granite countertops in the kitchen and bathroom and the appliances seem newer. Free wireless internet and free parking are a major plus. These are two essentials that are often not included in lodging options in Honolulu. The internet cut out now and then but never for too long.

There are a lot of windows in the condo because it's a corner unit. A lot of windows meant a lot of options for views and natural light. The view was amazing. The photo is a bit misleading because it shows a big building that seems to block the view from the lanai but the view is actually still pretty nice despite the building being in the way. I also loved that we had a view of both the ocean and of Diamond Head.

The kitchen was well stocked with plates, bowls, cups, pots, pans, knives, wine bottle opener, spoons, forks and so on. It also has an electric rice cooker, coffee maker, and toaster. We ended up cooking a lot which saved money. CIMY provided kitchen towels, sponge, and dish soap.

There was a full sized bed, a twin bed, and a pullout couch. The full and twin were in a separate room that was divided by three sliding doors. The pullout couch was already fitted with sheets and bedding so we didn't have to dress it ourselves. There is an extra pad that's a bit shorter than a twin sized mattress that can also be used for sleeping. There were extra pillows and blankets as well.

The bathroom had a full shower/bath. The water pressure in the shower is great. CIMY provided bath towels, shampoo, lotion, and soap. The towels were plentiful and were enough for the four of us who stayed in the condo.

The room is right next to the laundry room which was great. Initially, I was worried that there might be noise but we couldn't hear anything when we were in the condo. It was $1.50 to wash and another $1.50 to dry. The front desk downstairs was willing to exchange quarters for laundry.

One downside is that you have to walk through the bedroom to get to the bathroom. I stayed with my husband and in-laws. My in-laws slept in the bedroom while my husband and I slept on the pullout couch. It was a bit awkward when I had to use the bathroom and the in-laws were in the bedroom. It was especially awkward when I needed to use the restroom at night when they were already asleep. I would have preferred it if we didn't have to go through the bedroom to use the bathroom. Not a deal breaker though.

The condo doesn't have an oven. It only has a stove top and microwave. We bought chicken intending to make baked chicken for dinner only to realize that there's no oven. Not a big deal but I just assumed that there would be an oven and was surprised that there wasn't one.

I would book this condo again. I don't believe it is listed on VRBO or Flipkey so you might have to call and ask CIMY about this one if you are interested. I had inquired about one of their other condos advertised on Flipkey but that one was booked and they suggested 1714. I'm glad they did because I loved it!

This maybe be an older building, but the view with condo # 180530 is absolutely amazing! This is a beautiful corner room on the 36th floor, so you don't have to worry about not being able to see Diamond Head or the ocean with all the other buildings around. Even on the 36th floor, NO problems with the elevators. Waking up to the sun over Diamond Head and the sun setting over the water was gorgeous. The condo is well stocked with all the essentials you'll need. From all kinds of beach goodies including several beach towels, so no need to bring those (oh, just a VERY SHORT walk to the beach)! As we were relaxing in the condo, we saw whales from the lanai windows!!! Bath is stocked with blow drier and lots of bath towels and bath rags. Kitchen has everything you'll need, other than the food you'll need to purchase. There is a Safeway not too far from the condo. The bed was very comfortable. Perfect location for the beach and shopping! Parking IS FREE for the condo. Washer and dryer is located beside the room but no sounds will bother you ($1.50 each). The only problem (which was beyond the owner's control) was, construction workers were working on the lanaies, so we were NOT able to use the lanai at all! Safety is most important and I wouldn't won't anything to happen. Would have been nice for a deduction of the price of the condo. Yes, I would stay here again if I have the opportunity and would encourage anyone looking for a great place, this is it!

First off you can trust the pictures on this site. The view is amazing and the condo is clean and very roomy. The beds are comfy and the sleeper sofa is one of the best. The bathroom has the sink outside the tub/shower area which was helpful. The kitchen is well stocked with all the essentials, except for a blender. The fridge is large. We shopped at Sam's Club and the local food market for all our food and snacks. The furniture was nice and the kitchen has a huge bar with seating for 4 which was great for family dinners. The location is perfect. It is much quieter than being in the heart of Waikiki, if you like that sort of thing. It's only a short 5 min walk to the most beautiful beach. If you are there to only shop, you may want to be closer to Waikiki, otherwise this location is the best, only 2 blocks to the zoo. Within a minute of making a decision on this property, Zach emailed the agreement. Make sure you let him know if you need parking so he can put it in the agreement. Make sure you park on the first floor of the building as the key to the garage door no longer works and it's a long walk from any other floor. We never had a problem finding a parking spot. There is street parking but I wouldn't count on that. The bus does stop right outside the building too. Thanks Zach!

Room Tip: Higher floors have the best views.
