Wow, I have been touring several subs before and they did a great job on this one. The hand set audio tour is very well done and you can take your time looking around on the self guided tour. Don't miss this one!

This was my first time in Hawaii, along with my husband and two kids under age 8. We had planned to visit the USS Bowfin. We went into the submarine and it was amazing to learn that people lived in it for months at a time. Each room was tiny and crammed especially for tall people. It made me really appreciate the work and effort it took for those who served. It was fun, interesting and a great educational experience for everyone.

Shows crampedness of life in a submarine of the last century - claustrophobic even without humidity and the sounds under way. Explore and experience how it was like to fight in WW2. Instsills a lot of respect for those who were brave enough to do so.

My first time in an actual submarine. Cannot imagine having to live in such cramped quarters for the length of time experienced by servicemen and women. Was a fantastic insight into the level of sacrifice required of them.

If you are a history buff and like submarines then make sure you go to the Bowfin. Not wheel chair accessible and be prepared to duck if you are tall and watch your shins going through hatches. Great history and feel for what it was like to work on a sub.
