Not a kid friendly environment. The food was authentic, portions are small and the mochi is different (bad).

We opted for this restaurant over P. F Chang's for its appealing menu offerings, which include Dim Sum. The Shrimp Dumplings were the highlights of our meal; BBQ Pork Steamed Buns were pretty good. The Beef Chow Fun, on the other hand, was unremarkable; the chef was overly generous with chunky onions and green peppers. It's an attractive restaurant with great potentials for word-of-mouth. Pricing was reasonable for Waikiki Beach.

While the food was reasonable, the restaurant had a sneaky policy about gratuities. They slipped a laminated card briefly on the table, easily missed if you are paying attention to the menu, stating they impose a 15% gratuity on the bill. Since a gratuity is a thank you, it is at the customers discretion to give based on the dining experience. A gratuity cannot be demanded, or it is no longer a gratuity. When this was questioned when the bill was requested, the manager became quite insistent and nasty, instead of realizing what a gratuity really is.
Based upon this unreasonable policy, I would suggest you dine elsewhere.
The prices are also a bit steep.

If you are at Waikiki Beach at Honolulu , looking for a place to eat Chinese, try the Beijing - the place brands itself as the Chinese Seafood Restaurant. You may not find it easily since it is situated on the top floor of the Royal Hawaiian Shopping Centre - a multi-storied shopping mall on the Waikiki Walk. It is an elegant restaurant - for good Chinese food. You will not find the crowds here, since many would not have heard of it or the location being situated on the top floor of the shopping mall there are not many walk-ins, but believe you me, try this place for good Chinese food. We tried the Wanton soup, as also the fried Wanton for starters and they were good. We had a Chardonay for wine together with fried noodles, chicken and vegetables and the dishes were delicious. Service was prompt. The prices were less than PF Chang's - probably since this place is not on the regular tourist must do list. I would recommend this place, since there are not the crowds here as many of the other restaurants on the Waikiki Beach Walk

Located just upstairs from the Cheesecake Factory this place had no wait time and excellent Chinese food. Prices range from $25 for steak and seafood dishes and $18 for chicken and seafood fried rice dishes and well worth the price. Be warned though, stir fry does not come with white rice, it's an added charge which I found to be ridiculous. Also the egg flour soup tasted bland so save your $5 for something else. Overall it is a nice place, very clean and comfortable and definitely worth a try.
