Hotel is perfectly placed if you don't want to be in the main tourist section of town. You are far enough away to have a relaxing time, but still close enough to walk to the main strip. Close to the Ala Moana Shopping plaza (5 min walk) and close enough to the beach (10 min walk). If you find that's too far to walk then you can use the lagoon located directly next door at the Hilton.
Every Friday night the Hilton has a fireworks show that you can see from the hotel depending on your room, otherwise you can go down to the bar/pool area and watch from there.

The room was extremely clean and had everything that we needed. Beach towels were provided and plenty of towels for showering. The lobby of the hotel has several stores, including a grocery store where you can buy anything you need including alcohol. There is a bar/grill and a restaurant on top of the building that has amazing views.

Our apartment had a view of the pool and harbour. Very relaxing. There is a bus stop right outside the front door and there was always at least one taxi waiting in the drive. The pool also has a bar and staff will take you to deck chairs, provide towels and take drink and food orders from your deck chair. I don't know how anyone could give this place a bad review....what more could you want.

Room Tip: We booked through Waikiki Ocean Front Rentals and their websitte provides a diagram so you can see w...

Spent two nights on the way home from San Francisco and was very pleased with this hotel. The staff were all extremely pleasant and the onsite facilities were good. We received an upgraded room with kitchen and it was spacious and clean. The position of the hotel was perfect for Ala Moana Shopping centre and beach park the two places we were looking at using on our short stay.

Room Tip: Pay a little extra for Ocean View really adds to the Hawaiian mood.

I really wanted to stay in this location but since we will be on this island for such a short period of time, we're only here for a few days - then maui for a week, and there is a cleaning fee. So if you add the fee per night PLUS the cleaning fee - mind as well stay in a hotel, right? Well after inquiring about the fee.... got response "just stay in hotel if you don't want to pay the fee" Which is direct and true, but WOW... that 's all the response I got. How about you include the price of the cleaning in the price per night you "Advertise"..... the worst part is that i was so excited about staying here, i was going to pay the fee $115 for two nights...but after that response... you're right... i'll stay at a hotel - which i will gladly pay more for now.

We are a mature couple and recently stayed here. We loved the view from our room, its size and the way it was equipped. The hotel staff was friendly and helpful and we really enjoyed our stay. The only criticism we had was that the furnishings of the room and the hotel in general need to be upgraded. The whole hotel has a 'tired' feeling to it. In particular we noticed that the lifts smelled very musty, the carpets in them and throughout the hotel need replacing. We looked at 'The Modern' hotel next door which was noticeably more luxurious. However we feel that the Ilikai is good value for the price we paid.
We had dinner in the Sarento restaurant on the top floor of the Ilikai, which was an amazing experience - great food , view and service.

We stayed here before moving on and had a wonderful view of the ocean. The staff were quite friendly and the place was a lot of fun and the location was wonderful. The restaurant downstairs was pretty good and not too expensive. We had a nice time here. It was near the Hilton so we could see the Luau's every night along with fireworks and could go shopping all around. We will go back and enjoyed our time there. Each room is a bit different so hard to really judge anyone elses. We stayed in a place from Wakiki Oceanfront Rentals and it was seemless.

My wife and I stayed at the Ilikai Marina from Feb. 8th to Mar. 1st 2013. We booked through MARINA HAWAII VACATIONS , who’s office is located in the Ilikai Towers Hotel . (Not to be confused with the Ilikai Marina.) The agency called the units Condos. Firstly on arrival to the Ilikai towers unaware there was a differences we were shocked when we went to the front desk and found we were not booked there. After all, the place looked like the literature that we had received. By deduction the receptionist concluded that we should be at the Ilikai Marina just around the corner. We paid well over 1K/Week for what?
The list of deficiencies in the order as to our arrival into the unit assigned to us is as follows.
A strong musty odor greeted us as we opened the door first night. We opened the window and the balcony door for most of a week while there to get rid of the odor .
Random dirty spots on the carpet as if a small pet had also lived there.
Hard spots on the carpet that looked like fixed cigarette burns.
The carpet seam was separated in one spot about 1” in another about 1/4”.
It appeared that the cabinets in the kitchen had been changed do to the fact that there is a sizable gap between the cabinets and linoleum in both the kitchen and bathroom. And one door nob is missing on the lower right corner cabinet in the kitchen by the stove. The kitchen tap was loose and moved about when you used it.
Bathroom shower and tub enclosure supposedly has clear glass shower doors that were totally unsanitary with scrape-able soap, skin and calcium on them. They were so coated that at first glance one may think they were frosted. The above counter sink in the bath room was little better. Some walls had streaks terminating in a light brown tear drop stains. In my world neglected unsanitary conditions.
The toilet was another major concern. While having a bowel movement I was shocked that my testicles were getting wet. The water in the bowl was far too high.
It was an extremely disappointing and unsatisfactory experience. Despite many complaints and checking in when these complaints would be acted upon little or nothing was done to correct the most serious sanitary situations. And as far as we know the conditions have remained the same although we left the apartment cleaner than when we found it.
The advert we received posted a pool but there isn’t one at the Ilikai Marina.
Would you like to stay in a place like this and deal with an Agent like that?

From the outside, this hotel look old and worn. I don't think the look has been updated since it was in Hawaii Five-0, but as soon as you walk into the lobby you are blown away. The lobby opens up into a beautiful atrium that connects to a walkway that will take you to the beach and a fair sized man made lagoon. Every Friday, fireworks are set off on the beach so if you are lucky enough to have an ocean view room, you will have a perfect view from your balcony.

The rooms are very nice. The newer remodelled rooms have plenty of space and the kitchenettes are prefect for families. I stayed in both a renovated room and an older room but it was still very nice. I also love the fact that the Ilikai offers free wireless Internet.

This hotel is walking distance from the Ala Moana shopping centre and no less than 3 beaches. It,s just down the street from an IHOP, McDonalds, Red Lobster and many other restaurants. We rented a car the first time we came but quickly realized we didn't need one.

Room Tip: During the week, the rooms are very quiet. The only noise issue is on Friday nights during the firew...
