“Nice and Clean and great staff”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 26 November 2013

Stayed 5 nights on the 6th floor overlooking the lagoon and pools. great view but couldn't quite see the sunsets.
Staff were great. Very helpful and always smiling. Room was nice and clean. Had a small kitchen which was good. Pretty quiet location which was good
Well within walking distance of Ala Moana and the Nth end of the Stip.
Food at the grill (great location) leaves a lot to be desired but that just seems to be typical American food.....basic, bland and no flavour

We booked condo 1732 through Waikiki rentals. We dealt with Dainora.
She was very easy to communicate with and very helpful.
We loved our condo. So much better than cramming into a small hotel room.
The view from the balcony was just beautiful.
We had a Lagoon and Ocean view. Great for viewing the fireworks on a Tuesday and Friday night.
The condo itself had everything we needed.
We had two other couples visit our room while we were there. They both said our condo was much nicer than theirs. I was a little concerned when booking that it was going to be dated as I had read this in some reviews, but one step in the door and we found ours must have been one of the updated condos.
The location for us was good.
It’s not right in the heart of the action, but a very pleasant 15 minute walk and you were in the thick of it all.
Plenty of places to eat nearby.
Car rental a few steps away. ABC stores also very close by.
I would surely stay here again. I just don’t think you can beat it for the price.

The nice thing about the Illikai is the staff. They literally stand up and pay attention to you when you enter suite 212 (the registration room for the condos). They are extremely helpful and very couteous and we found this to be the case from the cleaning staff to the bellhops. We stayed two weeks (our first time at the Illakai) and would definitely stay again. I would have given it a five star rating except for the fact that our room could have used an upgrade (old tv, archaic microwave, etc.) Still there are signs eveywhere that maintenance is being done (carpets are new in the hallways and workmen are at work in various places). The pool is smallish and the ladders at the deeper end are rusted and loose - be careful if your a senior like me. All in all, we would stay again and if you go and like shrimp try the cocanut shrimp at the bar and grill. Also, if you stay here, a good place to go for breakfast is right across the street at a little spot called Snappers - 3.99 for two eggs, bacon, potatoes and toast. Also for icecream find the little spot tucked in behind the Haile Koi (military hotel) best value on ice cream and huge serving. Enjoy.

Room Tip: we were on the city side, ocean side would be quieter there's a lot of traffic, but if on the o...

We had a great time in this family location. Close to everything we could need. Valet parking was great, they were prompt and helpful. It was nice to have body boards and snorkel gear avaliable so we wouldn't have to buy it. Was plenty of room for all our belongings. Kids loved the pool although it closed at 7:30pm.

Had a condo on the 13th floor overlooking the marina.......gorgeous both in the morning and evening (great sunsets). The location was awesome. Five minute walk to Ala Moana Shopping Center - Foodland for food items. Ala Moana Park for morning walks - and some nice beach areas. We were able to walk everywhere.
Nice to have a washer and dryer on the floor - we used them once during our stay.

This was the best location to stay In Waikiki!!!
Our view was overlooking the lagoon-it was so beautiful! we also had the opportunity to have a birds eye view of the Hilton Fireworks on Tuesday and Friday night!!
We were extremely close to the lagoon which was a great spot to soak up the sun and have a dip without having to contend with wave,s and also a great spot to do some stand up paddle boarding-it was only about a 5 minute walk to the lagoon from the Ilikai!
right next to the lagoon is the beach which is rated the #2 beach in USA!!!
The spot was prime as it was in between Waikiki beach and Ala Moana-Great for shopping and a good way to walk off dinner after dining on the main street in Waikiki!!!

Room Tip: just dont hand your towel over the balcony to dry!!! we got a warning about this!!

I stayed here with my family for a full week and it could not been more amazing! The location is suberb! Walking distance to everything. I had an oceanfront room with an amazing view. The table outside with four chairs was a must, so we could enjoy our breakfast every morning. Very big room, with a nice bathroom and kitchen. Very confortable beds!!! The only reason the hotel get four stars and not five, is because the parking fee. 28$ (Day) for someone who is already paying (a lot) to stay there is unacceptable (even knowing other hotels in the same area charge the same). But I don't have any complaints about the valet itself. My car would be ready in less than 5 minutes. I have to say also the hotel has a very nice bar with really delicious food and a store (like ABC's) that you can purchase anything you want if do not want to leave the hotel. :) I will be happy to stay here again in the future!!!
