“Across from the beach”
Reviewed 28 November 2013

My wife and I stayed here for 5 nights in November 2013. It is straight across from the beach and very convenient. It is at the quieter end of the Waikiki beach, towards the Zoo. We liked the relative quiet of that end, away from some of the very big resorts. It has free wifi and you can pick up a beach towel at reception on your way to the beach. We wanted a king bed room, but on the first day they only had the twin doubles. While the rate didn't guarantee the king, they were able to move us after the first night to a lovely king room on level 17. It was quiet, clean and very comfortable. The room was light and airy.

There was an area power outage one morning. The hotel has a generator that kept the TVs and lights on in the rooms, but mains water pressure dropped so we had no water in the bathroom for a couple of hours. It wasn't clear whether the staff had practiced how to manage in such facility incidents. They only made a couple of announcements on the PA to inform guests of the situation. More information may have made it easier to understand what was going on. Otherwise the staff worked consistently to assist with all of our needs in a professional and helpful manner. I'd definitely stay here again.

Aloha GalipoliVisitor,

Thank you for taking the time to write a very nice review on your recent stay at Park Shore Waikiki. I am sorry for the power failure created by the electric company. We noted some follow up items to the incident. I am glad that we were able to move you to a king bedded room the following day after arrival, and apologize for the inconvenience. I am happy to hear that our wonderful service professionals were very helpful to your needs. We are delighted that you will be returning again in the future, and we will ensure that you have another memorable stay with us.

Park Shore isn't the nicest hotel I've stayed at in Waikiki, but the location suites me. I like being very close to the beach. This hotel is on the Diamond Head end of the beach and right next to big Kapiolani Park. The park is a nice place to walk or run and attracts lots of locals.
When I checked into the hotel, another couple was having a discussion about the size of a roach in their room. I found my room to be clean (no insects) and it was large. Towels were nice, bed sheets were just OK. It included a small fridge, small lanai which didn't have any chairs (too small) and looked right at other adjacent hotels. I think the room could have used a chair. The style of the hotel isn't hip like Hotel Renew, but it is adequate. Also, they didn't add on "Resort Fees" as does Renew. I was in the 16th floor and my room was reasonably quiet. Only noise was from outside, and this can be masked by using the A/C. There is a sushi bar in the hotel; it's good, but very overpriced. LuLu's is next door. It's "open air" on the second floor with a nice ocean view. Good for breakfast, but dinner wasn't that great. Oh, and if you tire if the food in Waikiki, walk up the street about 15 minutes (towards Honolulu) and eat with the locals (Uncle Bo's or a tiny take-away place with fantastic poke - Ono Seafood, among others).

Aloha SkisWithDog,

Thank you for taking the time to write a review regarding your recent stay at Park Shore Waikiki. I am glad that you. I am glad that you enjoyed our great location and amenities that are nearby. I wanted to reassure you that we do not have a bug problem and was an isolated incident from a Poolside room, where many guests leave their lanai door open, which allows for easy entry into these rooms. We are currently upgrading our bed linens to a 300 count product, which you will notice upon your return visit. We look forward to having you stay with us again in the future, and will ensure that you have an incredible experience.

We loved this hotel! The view from our room of Diamond Head, the zoo, and the beach was amazing and the staff are some of the nicest people you could ever hope to meet. There is a Starbucks a few feet from the hotel entrance and Lu Lu's Waikiki restaurant is on the 2nd floor, and is a great place to eat. The pool, on the 3rd floor, has a wonderful view of the beach, and was not crowded. Also helpful is an ABC store which can be accessed from the hotel lobby. Wifi was wonderful and no problems connecting at all (unlike the hotel we stayed in the first two nights). The A/C was great as well. We will definitely be back and will recommend this hotel to friends.

Room Tip: The rooms on the zoo/Diamond Head side of the hotel have wonderful views of the area and the ocean.

Aloha! The location of the Park Shore has always been perfect. It is located on the corner across from the swimming beach and park/zoo with 2 different bus stops within a few feet. Recent remodeling has the rooms in like new condition. Staff was exceptionally nice and helpful. Our view from 907 was excellent. We've stayed in other rooms before and even the view from the partial view rooms are very good. I've lost track of how many times we've stayed at this hotel, more than 20, but in this case the hotel has aged beautifully and is in its best condition ever! Mahalo!

Wonderful hotel, excellent location - had room overlooking zoo, diamond head & the beach.
I would highly recommend this hotel & would stay here again if lucky enough to return!!
The staff is friendly & helpful & they provide beach towels too. There is a wonderful, healthy breakfast/lunch cafe and a starbucks on the first floor, and a good restaurant on the second.

Room Tip: The view from the 'Diamond Head' rooms is spectacular - since the hotel is the 'last one...

This was my second stay at the Park Shore. 2010 we had an ocean view room. This trip just a standard room but top floor and still had great views. Pool was great, lots of room, chairs and umbrellas. Rooms have a mini fridge and coffee maker, microwave on third floor. The rooms are small but it's enough and the shower had great pressure. The hotels has towels and chairs for the guests take to the beach, which is steps away. Staff was great very friendly and rooms were clean. ABC store, StarBucks, LuLu's and Tucker and Bevvy all located at the hotel. The only down side is the homeless that seem to set up in front of the hotel/ ABC and Starbucks but seem harmless, just doesn't look ver good. Zoo across the street and the aquarium just minutes away as well.

Thank you for taking the time to write a nice review on your recent stay, and for returning again to Park Shore Waikiki. I am glad that you enjoyed our great location, the newly renovated Hotel Room. We are working on addressing the Waikiki homeless population with the City & County of Honolulu, and hope to have this resolved in the future.
